Story
Jess needs a fresh start. She’s broke and alone, and she’s just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half brother, Ben, didn’t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn’t say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up—to find a very nice apartment, could Ben really have afforded this?—he’s not there. The longer Ben stays missing, the more Jess starts to dig into her brother’s situation, and the more questions she has.

Slow storyline, flat characters
This book was a slog for me. I really didn't enjoy it at all - they story is so slow, the characters are flat and it takes so long for the plot to go anywhere. Everything happens very quickly at the end and is predictable. Definitely not a thriller!

Yikes.
I really didn't like this book. It was terrible. Boring for the most part, you might be surprised by the fact that there is no thriller aspect of this book for most of it, even though it's a James Patterson. There is also no character depth. It's very expositional. For how long the book is I was surprised that I bonded with none of the characters. I would skip this one and save yourself the time.

Not worth the money (or audible credit)
I don't normally write reviews, but I was so disappointed in this story I decided to save others from 10 hours of listening to this. I love Dolly and I love James Patterson, but wow. Very little story to this really. Very slow. Dolly reading was the only enjoyable part, and the only thing that kept me from giving up on the book. I was really looking forward to this story too and am beyond disappointed. Save your money or your credit, this book isn't worth it.

A Must for Dolly Parton Fans
Run Rose Run is a look a the country music industry through the Cinderella story of Annie Lee Keyes who is mentored with the strong kind hand of Super Star Ruthanna Ryder.
A Dolly Parton fan can see bits of the Country Music Queen in each character. The cast makes the audio recording more like a play for radio than a book reading.
The mystery is the least interesting part of the story. Read it for the Dollyisums, the events that could have been pulled from the country stars life , and the descriptions of the joy of writing & performing songs.
The book is also peppered with Easter Eggs from Ms. Parton 's life. Her relationship with shoes, french fries, make-up & a half a dozen more behaviors a fan might recognize.
This book is a must for Dolly Parton Fans

Not my kind of James Patterson.
Kind of juvenile and corny. Not James Pattersonish. More soap opera than anything and I found myself not even liking the heroine that much and once you find out her "big secret", you find yourself thinking..really??? All that hot mess and not calling the police or asking for help for something like that? Seems stupid and not brave

The all star narration was phenomenal. It read like a radio play with the multiple narrators and characters.
The story was intriguing and entertaining. The dialog was witty and fun. I did not want the story to end. Definitely wanted more of Annie Lee, a firecracker indeed. I loved loved loved Ethan and Dolly. A follow up story about Rose’s sisters would be welcomed. 😉
