Settle back with a cup of hot chocolate, lock the doors, and be ready to call your best friend in case you start seeing big hairy faces in the window (but be aware that your friend may also be listening to these stories, so have a backup plan).

Story
As the ash and chaos from Mount Rainier’s eruption swirled and finally settled, the story of the Greenloop massacre has passed unnoticed, unexamined...until now. The journals of resident Kate Holland, recovered from the town’s bloody wreckage, capture a tale too harrowing - and too earth-shattering in its implications - to be forgotten. In this audiobook, Max Brooks brings Kate’s extraordinary account to light for the first time, faithfully reproducing her words alongside his own extensive investigations into the massacre and the legendary beasts behind it.

Publisher's Summary
Ever thought about visiting the beautiful and rugged state of Montana? If so, be sure to listen to these stories before you go, for there may be more there than you ever imagined in your wildest dreams.
These all new stories are sure to make you want to hide deep in your sleeping bag if you’re brave enough to listen to them at night by headlamp while camped in one of the state’s beautiful campgrounds. And what just brushed against your tent? A wolf? Grizzly bear? Or was it something even bigger and more terrifying?
Fly-fishing guide Rusty Wilson, known as the World's Greatest Bigfoot Storyteller, has spent years collecting these tales from his clients around the campfire, stories guaranteed to make sure you won‘t want to go out after dark.
Come join a botanist in Glacier National Park who discovers a most unusual use for a mudpack, then watch a strange sight in the Sweet Grass Hills of northern Montana. Come along as a tow-truck driver tries to figure out why a tourist won’t abandon his car in the winter cold, then join a campground host as he faces his deepest fears.
And if you survive all that, come along on an experiment in terror in a resort in the wilds. Next, join in the discovery of a very unusual find on a dinosaur dig in Montana’s badlands, then learn why it’s not a good idea to feed the wildlife, nor to harass them. Climb a tall peak with a filmmaker to discover a terrifying and dangerous sight that almost costs him his life, and finally, visit with a musician as he discovers the real meaning of an appreciative audience.
You’ll want to be sure you’re not alone in the woods while listening to these stories, or maybe even alone inside your house!
Another great book from Rusty Wilson, Bigfoot expert and storyteller - tales for both the Bigfoot believer and those who just enjoy a good story.

stories entertaining, this one more far-fetched
I really enjoy Rusty's stories. most of them seem well grounded in logic or at least they are believable. This particular version had a few details that appeared to be more embellished or imagined than conceivable. Myself I've met a dozen or so people who have had encounters, many similar to Rusty stories. I have not witnessed firsthand a class A sighting but I have heard tree knocking and screams in the Rockies and the Ozarks. I've also found a footprint in Oklahoma. that's being said most of the stories are consistent with behavior I've witnessed. Whether or not you are listening to these stories to gather more of your own information or just to be entertained you will not be disappointed as always he delivers a story that is new or fresh.

Best Book Yet
Traveling though Montanta at the moment in my 16ft travel trailer and I'm staying in some pretty remote areas. Having heard the Montana Bigfoots arnt the friendliest I keep an eye out. I had 2 bigfoot encounters in Colorado in 2018 which freaked me out.... now I always think about them before I go into the woods. Anyways these books are amazing! The storytelling pulls you right in making you feel like you were with the people.

Frightening & Fascinating Collection
The king of Bigfoot tales returns with another collection of encounter stories, this group focused on the state of Montana. Rusty's stories are different than others you may have read. They are heartwarming, heartbreaking and frightening. They are related in the voice of the witness and the imagery and intimacy make you feel like you are right there with them. Rusty gathers these wonderful tales from his fly-fishing customers who have often not felt comfortable sharing them with anyone else. Never mind the sample, just click but or download, you won't regret it. The caliber of the tales is such that they will be read more than once. I have all of his books and he can't write them fast enough. Another excellent collection of stories that will stay with you long after the book is finished. Richard Henzel handles the wonderful narration with his authentic storyteller voice.

God awful narrator...
The stories are really good but the narrator is absolutely terrible. He talks like a robot pauses in between almost every word and tries to put on false voices, it’s really, really bad to the point of almost ruining the stories. If they would do these books with almost any other narrator it would be five stars across-the-board.

I'll listen to this one again
I have most of Rusty Wilson's audio books. This new Montana one has solid, interesting stories all the way through. It left me wishing for more. My only complaint is that the audio had a couple of spots where it sounded like it went from stereo to mono or something.

The reason I renew Audible
I don't usually keep my Audible subscription going. Too much garbage to wade through to find something decent. They are constantly pushing the same books. But I check in every once in a while to see if Rusty has a new book. I renewed just for this book. I'm not a bigfoot believer but the stories are entertaining and the narrator fits just right. Never disappointed.
