Story
The Earth’s navy is left drifting among the stars as Nyctus ships swarm, their purpose unknown as they continue their advance, burning one system after another. Humanity's extinction seems inevitable. But on one of the forgotten worlds, a boy is left behind, and he holds a talent unlike anything the galaxy has ever known. Thorn Stellers is a mage, trained to lead and fight. With a renegade division of warriors at his side, and with weapons far different from those of old Earth, Thorn has a chance at standing up to humanity's enemies.

Story
Fresh off their first major victory against the Nyctus, the Orbital Navy is moving forward in confusion. Starcasters, led by Thorn Stellers, are not trusted - magic has not replaced the power of steel and naval might, and humanity is at a crossroads. As Thorn and Kira define their roles in the new navy, magic refuses to stay still. When Thorn discovers he has untapped power, Mol Wyant helps him use it. The results will change every rule, along with the known galaxy, for Thorn Stellers isn’t just a magician of unknown power. He’s a weapon of undiscovered fury.

Story
When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Publisher's Summary
During a standard patrol, Thorn finds the scarred remains of a planet that has been reshaped by an unknown race.
Massive machines were used to alter the landscape, and the only thing missing from the site is magic. Whoever is changing the galaxy, it isn’t the Nyctus.
On a distant planet, Morgan is under constant psionic reeducation, as the Nyctus try to shape her lethal power into a force for their fleet. Resisting them each step of the way, she will be subjected to attacks by the most gifted enemy shamans - but it might not be enough, as the little girl is no longer a confused child. She’s blooming into a being of such magical power that even Thorn might pale in comparison.
With new allies in the galactic war, Thorn must use his gifts to convince one race after another that humans are their allies, not their enemies, and his unique brand of diplomacy just might work. But only if he and Kira can break through their grief and find a path back to Morgan, all while guiding an elite force on a desperate mission to save the girl who just might save them all.

Great series
I really am enjoying all the details in this series. First 3 kept me wanting more! The characters are great and I look forward to the next book.
However I found the last 2 books dragging out the finding of the child tedious, as a parent no one would wait 2 books of time to search for their child no matter what. And the dragging out of that was a bit over the top. Also found the great feats amazing but then some how they couldn’t do it again until the climax near the end super odd.
Over all though a great series I see there is one final book left to read and I’ll pick that up hoping there isn’t some weird cliff hanger like the last 2 books.
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
