About this listen

Part-time environmentalist and philanthropist Ben and his ex-mercenary buddy Chon run an independent Laguna Beach–based marijuana operation, reaping significant profits from an established clientele. But they may have come up against something that they can't handle---the Mexican Baja Cartel wants in, and saying no is unacceptable. When they refuse to back down, the cartel kidnaps Ophelia, the boys' playmate and confidante. O's abduction sets off a dizzying array of ingenious negotiations and gripping plot twists that will captivate listeners eager to learn the costs of freedom and the price of an amazing high.©2010 Samburu, Inc. What the critics say

"A spellbinding, tour de force that is utterly impossible to put down. Savages is, bar none, the finest novel I have read in years." (Christopher Reich, author of Rules of Deception)

Couple guys making a living selling pot. Mexican cartels move in and take them over they rage war against them

. Overall the plots is interesting. One twist at the end, kind of came out of left field I guess that's what makes it is a twist after all, but during the characters set up there should have been some sort of clue leading up to it. The narrator does a confident job and the story is decent. The characters are relatively engaging although I think more time have been spent the leadership of the cartel.

A decent narco fiction drama

The story gets interrupted constantly by the announcement of the next ‘chapter’. All told I think there was over 260.

Too Many Chapters

The story and characters are unrealistic and I did care what happened to the.. Juvenile!

Superficial characters and storyline. I could not bring myself to finish reading it.
