For months I stood by, an understudy waiting in the wings, preparing for my time to shine. I never imagined he would watch in the audience that night. Canon Holt. Famous film director. Fascinating. Talented. Fine. Before I could catch my breath, everything changed. I went from backstage Broadway to centerstage Hollywood. From being unknown to my name, Neevah Saint, on everyone’s lips. Canon casts me in a star-studded Harlem Renaissance biopic, catapulting me into another stratosphere. But stars shine brightest in the dead of night.

Publisher's Summary
Love and hip-hop.... The two mix together smoothly, like Hennessy and Coke.
Harmony used to love love. She loved the idea of being in love. As a result, Valentine’s Day was her favorite holiday...was. Now, she hated the very thought of it. Cody had ruined it for her and any chance of her ever falling in love again. He ruined it so much that when she met Dallas, she didn’t trust him to lead her to fall in love with love again.
On Valentine's Day, Dallas experienced the biggest loss of his life. He ignorantly assumed that life couldn’t get any worse. Yet, as they say, if you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans. God must have been cracking up at Dallas’ plans because Dallas soon found himself completely lost for a year...until he met Harmony. She was perfect, yet Dallas was beyond flawed and at the lowest part of his life. He should have been honest with her when he’d first met her. Instead, he only proved to her that men couldn’t be trusted.

The description is not what the book is about
I struggled to finish it. The book was mainly about a character named Kane who sold drug. I thought it was more on the lines of romance not thuglife! The narrators were cool... i just didnt like the book.

Great Story
I really like this book. It was full of drama and swag; held my attention from the first book through the second book. My criticism is for Audible; please make it easier to find series books in order from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. I had a difficult time finding this book. Please show the next book in the series after book is completed. Thanks! Keep them coming Jessica!

I am really starting to feel Ms.Jessica’s skills. I am so glad she used great narrators out the gate. This story is so good and the narration is SUPERB! I can’t wait for the new series coming out next month. Kudos for this book. All of you rocked the entire experience.

Ok story with good and bad narration
Story was ok. I could listen to anything narrated by Jakobi Diem and Wesleigh Siobhan but whoever narrated Kane was just terrible. Awful. Made the story a little hard to listen to.

I read the reviews first and gave it a try. I loved it. I think every grown woman and young woman that needs help loving themselves should check this out. It's not a self help book but it definitely gives you perspective on maybe a toxic relationship or friendship. Also motivation if you've been in quarantine and feeling stuck. I was surprised at how updated the author was when it came to what's trending. very relatable for young adults...

Emotional Ride!
This story had everything in it. Happy how it ended. However, it had a lot going on with the characters. Narration was good with some narrators better than others. I rate it as a good read. Recommending to others as well.
