Story
Calla Fletcher returns to Toronto a different person, struggling to find direction and still very much in love with the rugged bush pilot she left behind. When Jonah arrives on her doorstep with a proposition she can't dismiss, she takes the leap and rushes back to Alaska to begin their exciting future together. But Calla soon learns that even the best intentions can lead to broken promises, and that compromise comes with a hefty price - a log cabin in rural Alaska that feels as isolating as the western tundra.

Olive is always unlucky: in her career, in love, in...well, everything. Her identical twin sister, Amy, on the other hand, is probably the luckiest person in the world. Her meet-cute with her fiancé is something out of a romantic comedy (gag), and she’s managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a series of internet contests (double gag). Worst of all, she’s forcing Olive to spend the day with her sworn enemy, Ethan, who just happens to be the best man.

But in terms of caretaking and relating to two children, no matter how adorable, Patrick is, honestly, overwhelmed. Story
Owning a strip club isn't the fantasy most guys expect it to be. With long hours, a staff with enough issues to keep a psych ward in business, and the police regularly on his case, twenty-nine-year-old Cain is starting to second guess his unspoken mission to save the women he employs. And then blond, brown-eyed Charlie Rourke walks through his door, and things get really complicated. Cain abides by a strict "no sleeping with the staff" rule. But being around Charlie challenges Cain's self-control…and it's been a long time since any woman has done that.

Publisher's Summary
The best-selling author of The Simple Wild and Keep Her Safe and “master of steamy romance” (Kirkus Reviews) delivers a sizzling novel about an ambitious and high-powered executive who reconnects with her first love: the boy who broke her heart.
Life is a mixed bag for Piper Calloway.
On the one hand, she’s a 29-year-old VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm, and living the high single life with her two best friends in a swanky downtown penthouse. On the other hand, she’s considered a pair of sexy legs in a male-dominated world and constantly has to prove her worth. Plus, she’s stuck seeing her narcissistic ex-fiancé - a fellow VP - on the other side of her glass office wall every day.
Things get exponentially more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller - the handsome new security guard at Calloway Group Industries, and coincidentally the first love of her life.
The guy she hasn’t seen or heard from since they were summer camp counselors together. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks. The guy who apparently doesn’t even remember her name.
Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is not only alive but stronger than ever, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫
I really enjoyed this book even though it didn't feel like a K.A. Tucker book to me, but that's my fault for assuming it would be full of suspense like her other books when this is actually a Contemporary Romance.
I love a second chance romance and this was exactly that. This story is told in the past and present so you can really feel the connection between the characters. I especially liked that even though they were from two different worlds, they still fell back into each other so easily. I love a happy ending!
The narration was great. This is my first Devon Sorvari and hopefully won't be my last.

You never forget your first love
This was a really sweet story that I feel like anyone can relate to in some way. The characters were relatable, there were a lot of fun and goofy moments, and there were serious moments that made you feel the intended emotions. What more can you ask for really?
My only critique is that the first few hours seemed to drag just a bit. I know that they were important to set the story up, but I wanted to get to the action and rekindling almost as soon as I started listening, and that just didn’t happen. I wish I would have known that going in so I was prepared. I did go ahead and stick it out though, and I don’t regret it.
I’m always a sucker for young innocent love, and I felt like this was a more modern day Notebook in a way. Would recommend.

Eh
This book was meh. It had an okay concept but the characters were pretty infuriating. Mainly Piper. I just didn’t really connect with these characters. The plot and conflicts were very……..easy. The characters just didn’t really learn much. The ending was very unsatisfying. The author tried to make me feel bad and feel angry for Piper, and I just couldn’t. Also I don’t like when an author brings up politics in their books. Even if I agree with them. I read books to get away from the real world. I don’t like any mention of real world politics.
