Publisher's Summary

The best-selling author of The Simple Wild and Keep Her Safe and “master of steamy romance” (Kirkus Reviews) delivers a sizzling novel about an ambitious and high-powered executive who reconnects with her first love: the boy who broke her heart.

Life is a mixed bag for Piper Calloway.

On the one hand, she’s a 29-year-old VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm, and living the high single life with her two best friends in a swanky downtown penthouse. On the other hand, she’s considered a pair of sexy legs in a male-dominated world and constantly has to prove her worth. Plus, she’s stuck seeing her narcissistic ex-fiancé - a fellow VP - on the other side of her glass office wall every day.

Things get exponentially more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller - the handsome new security guard at Calloway Group Industries, and coincidentally the first love of her life.

The guy she hasn’t seen or heard from since they were summer camp counselors together. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks. The guy who apparently doesn’t even remember her name.

Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is not only alive but stronger than ever, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

I really enjoyed this book even though it didn't feel like a K.A. Tucker book to me, but that's my fault for assuming it would be full of suspense like her other books when this is actually a Contemporary Romance.

I love a second chance romance and this was exactly that. This story is told in the past and present so you can really feel the connection between the characters. I especially liked that even though they were from two different worlds, they still fell back into each other so easily. I love a happy ending!

The narration was great. This is my first Devon Sorvari and hopefully won't be my last.

You never forget your first love

This was a really sweet story that I feel like anyone can relate to in some way. The characters were relatable, there were a lot of fun and goofy moments, and there were serious moments that made you feel the intended emotions. What more can you ask for really?

My only critique is that the first few hours seemed to drag just a bit. I know that they were important to set the story up, but I wanted to get to the action and rekindling almost as soon as I started listening, and that just didn’t happen. I wish I would have known that going in so I was prepared. I did go ahead and stick it out though, and I don’t regret it.

I’m always a sucker for young innocent love, and I felt like this was a more modern day Notebook in a way. Would recommend.

Didn’t pull me in the way I wanted.

It was a nice story but I felt the book didn’t really pull me in emotionally. Wouldn’t recommend.

The best!

DESCRIPTION:
Piper grew up wealthy. She never let the riches of her parents deter her from who she really was. No amount of money would make her cruel. She stayed kind and generous. In her first year of being a camp counselor she meets Kyle and things change for her. She falls in love, gets fired from her job, and breaks her heart all in one summer.

Kyle never contacted Piper after camp. He left and never looked back after summer camp. 13 years later he shows up at her work as a security guard and plays like he doesn’t even know her, even going as far as calling her the wrong name.

MY THOUGHTS:
This book bounces from past and present storytelling. The twists in this book are sooo good. Just when you think they are going to make it something happens or something comes up. There is sadness, heartache, laughter, and romance. This book is truly such a good read. If you need a good heart-warming book this is it! KA Tucker just knows how to get all your feelings going.
