Story
Before Liz Lemon, before Weekend Update, before Sarah Palin, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: A recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Story
From breakout stand-up comedian Iliza Shlesinger comes a subversively funny collection of essays and observations on a confident woman's approach to friendship, singlehood, and relationships. "Girl Logic" is Iliza's term for the way women obsess over details and situations that men don't necessarily even notice. She describes it as a characteristically female way of thinking that appears to be contradictory and circuitous but is actually a complicated and highly evolved way of looking at the world.

It’s January 1995, and Franny Banks has just six months left of the three-year deadline she set for herself when she came to New York, dreaming of Broadway and doing "important" work. Hi! I’m Seth! I was asked to describe my audiobook, Yearbook for websites and shit like that, so...here it goes!!! Yearbook is a collection of true stories that I desperately hope are just funny at worst, and life-changingly amazing at best. (I understand that it’s likely the former, which is a fancy “book” way of saying “the first one.”) I talk about my grandparents, doing stand-up comedy as a teenager, bar mitzvahs, and Jewish summer camp, and tell way more stories about doing drugs than my mother would like.

Publisher's Summary
A collection of humorous autobiographical essays by the Academy Award-nominated actress and star of Up in the Air and Pitch Perfect.
"I'm excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I'd like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude and pettiness and the frequency with which I embarrass myself. And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well educated and accomplished comedy writers, I'm very, very funny on Twitter, according to BuzzFeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea. Quick question: Are run-on sentences still frowned upon? Wait, is ending a sentence with a preposition still frowned upon? I mean, upon frowned? Dammit!" (Anna Kendrick)
Anna Kendrick's autobiographical collection of essays amusingly recounts memorable moments throughout her life, from her middle-class upbringing in New England to the blockbuster movies that have made her one of Hollywood's most popular actresses today. Expanding upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known, Anna Kendrick's essays offer her one-of-a-kind commentary on the absurdities she's experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture.

Great first audiobook!!
I was very hesitant to start listening to audiobooks. I am a fast reader and able to imagine the scenes set forth in a book pretty quickly and easily, and I was afraid that listening to a book wouldn't capture that same kind of imagination. This is why I chose a free trial from Audible, and a celebrity autobiography actually read by that celebrity - it was the exact right choice. Anna Kendrick wrote a witty, attention-grabbing, easy-to-listen-to book and I had absolutely no problems putting myself in her world for 6 hours. The chapters follow each other seamlessly and Anna has a great voice for audiobooks - she enunciates, she's emotional where it counts, and she's very very real. I highly recommend this audiobook. #Audible1

I absolutely loved this book. I've been a fan of Anna kendrick for as long as I can remember and knew she was hilarious but had no idea it would come threw so much in her book. I had so many laugh out loud in public moments it got to be embarrassing. She has a way of making it sound like you're just having a conversation insted of her talking at you. I would love if she released another book or even a collection of essays!

Interesting
I liked getting to know the actress better. Hendrick is, as she notes in her book, a private person. So it was nice to meet her in her own voice and not attached to a character or through an interview lens. She’s different than I expected, and I appreciate that she’s not a Hollywood “nice girl.” I have a better appreciation for her work, too. Would recommend to anyone who’s ever dabbled in acting themselves - She’s got some relatable experiences that you might appreciate.

Anna Kendrick: Scrappy Little... Revelation
Story: Like so many others that have left reviews, I too have thoroughly enjoyed this book. I've only listened to a few other books in this genre (Rob Lowe, Judy Greer, Tina Fey) so I can't compare it to much, but I would consider this a somewhat typical Hollywood memoir. Trying to figure out direction in life, reaching the ah-ha moment, and then experiencing the highs and lows of the journey. I found myself able to relate to some stories and others not, but even if you can or can't, I'm confident that you'll be laughing along the entire way. One thing that makes it interesting is that Miss Kendrick is still a young actress. She has experienced a lot already and we don't even know where she will go from here (how many more books will we get!?).
Performance: The narration was done wonderfully! The audiobook flowed and felt like a conversation with a friend... you know, when a friend tells a really, really long story :) For real, though, this was hilarious and genuine.
Overall: I couldn't find myself giving the overall rating anything other than five stars. This book is light, easy to follow and humorous. I nearly finished it during one drive and didn't tire or need a break at all because it all flowed so well and I was pulled into the performance from the start. Highly recommend this audiobook! To wrap this up, the best way I can describe this audiobook is... absolutely effortless!

Great Autobiography
I have never been able to finish a celebrity autobiography before. Midway through this book I realized that this was something that I would listen to several times over. Anna is brilliant and can effortlessly put herself in the mind of reader in a way that makes it seem like a real conversation. I enjoy that she gets right to the point and doesn't add any fluff to lengthen the story. This book never came off as self absorbed or fake, which is refreshing. All together it is worth a credit.

A much-needed laugh
When I saw that Anna had a book coming out I quickly checked to see if it was going to be Audible and I was relieved. I love listening to memoirs read by the author. Especially if the author is an actor or a comedian. There is something there in the audiobook that you can't get from reading it.
Scrappy Little Nobody was no different. Anna's narration really made this book in my opinion. I'm sure that reading it on your own you could have enjoyed it just as much -- but hearing her actual reactions to things she wrote on top of hearing her tell you stories that were funny and sometimes embarrassing really put this book over the top.
I started this book on a day where I wasn't having a good morning (are there such a thing as a good morning?) And within the first few minutes of my drive I was already laughing and smiling like an idiot during my commute. The rest of the book kept me smiling and laughing.
Anna's story was really well thought out and I'm glad (and a little amazed) that she was able to get as much intimacy onto the page and into the audiobook.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who needs a good laugh, especially if you like a slightly cynical and real celebrity.

Ugh. I wanted to like it!
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I actually don't know who might enjoy this book. Maybe a 19 year old.
Would you ever listen to anything by Anna Kendrick again?
If it weren't her own book, yes (maybe).
Would you be willing to try another one of Anna Kendrick’s performances?
Possibly--but I wouldn't be too excited about it.
Any additional comments?
I really wanted to like this book. I think Anna Kendrick is a cute and kind of quirky actress--and I like that she doesn't take herself too seriously. But the book stunk. She takes the self deprecation schtick way too far, so much that it comes off as forced and then she just kind of seems like a spoiled jerk.

Great story!
I loved this from beginning to end. I really hope people take a chance on this. I found her so likeable. I would read another book by her tomorrow!

Disappointing
I really wanted to like this book. I enjoy Anna Kendrick onscreen and she always seemed so laid back and fun in interviews and behind the scenes clips. Though her neurosis was definitely charming, the rest of it just wasn't.
Her whining, almost child-like, recounting of a life spent high on drugs and low in confidence?
No thanks.
