Publisher's Summary

Bennett Sharp is on the run. Wanted for piracy, she fears neither God nor death nor man. Except Priest Farrell.

The unfaithful, stormy-eyed libertine hunts her with terrifying possessiveness. Nothing will stop him from coming for her. Not his unforgivable betrayal. Not when she’s captured by the ice-cold pirate hunter Lord Ashley Cutler.

She must escape Ashley’s prison and Priest’s deceit. But can she walk away from their twisted desires?

Two gorgeous captains stand on opposite sides of the law. When they collide in a battle to protect her, the lines blur between enemies and lovers.

Passion heats, secrets unravel, and hearts entangle until they break.

Can love prevail in the sea of ruin?

Extremely hot and absolutely amazing!

Pirates and romance, check. Engaging story that kept me on my toes, check. Hot protagonists, check. Dark and gritty enough that I truly believed the ruthless of the pirates, but at times so sweet I found myself kicking my feet and giggling. Absolutely recommend!

An Unexpected Adventure

Really enjoyed this book. Fantastic narration, really great at spanning time as our heroine ages and shares her tale.

Worth the listen!

swept away on a Sea of Ruin

No one weaves a tale quite like Pam Godwin. I loved everything about this book. Even the fear, raw emotion and gruesome parts. ( You can't have a pirate story without some gruesome parts!) Ms. Godwin has a way of making her audience truely feel everything her characters experience. I know I will listen to this audiobook time and again. Roxy Isles is the perfect narrator for this story. Her transition between characters is flawless and gives an extra layer of colour to this gritty love story. Ms Godwin and Ms Isles, you have absolutely swept me away on A Sea of Ruin.

HOLY BURNING HELL

Okay I have been looking for a pirate book that is TRULY pirate like and I have finally found it. Enough of the YA pirates. Give me Black Sails but better in the form of a book that stays with you longer after the book is over. This book is amazing and I now need the physical copy. Well done. Well narrated. Just amazing all around.

Unnecessary brutality

Wow. I was totally unprepared for how dark and brutal this book would be 😅😬 Note to self, check all the categories the book is listed under before blindly trusting TikTok 😂 I am confounded by this story and the level of unnecessary violence, sexual assault and rape that takes place. I listened to this and was genuinely like: oh wow okay then 😳🤦🏼‍♀️ I thought I was in for a gritty pirate story with a badass heroine, and the first 1/3 of the book is good, with violence that I assumed was plot driving in its intent but then the book mostly devolves into differing versions of Stockholm Syndrome and gaslighting. The brutality this poor heroine is subjected to is obscene and quickly reaches a point where it’s unnecessary for the story.
