Publisher's Summary

First in a sizzling new series from Jennifer Probst, the USA Today best-selling author adored for her "fresh, fun, and sexy" (Romancing the Book) storytelling!

In charming Verily, New York, Kate Seymour has a smashing success with Kinnections, the matchmaking service she owns with her two best girlfriends. But Kate's more than a savvy businesswoman: She's gifted with a secret power, a jolting touch that signals when love's magic is at work. It rocked her when she picked up a strange volume of love spells in the town's used bookstore...and it zapped her again when she encountered Slade Montgomery, the hot-tempered - and hot-bodied - divorce lawyer who storms into Kinnections demanding proof that playing Cupid won't destroy his vulnerable sister, Kate's newest client. The only way to convince this cynic that she's no fraud, and that love is no mirage, is for Kate to meet his audacious challenge: find him his dream woman. Can Kate keep their relationship strictly business when her electrifying attraction nearly knocked her off her feet? Or has the matchmaker finally met her match?

Blah!

I totally loved J.P's marriage bargain series...this was a poor attempt at something like that... I stopped at chapter 7 because I was bored. There were a few funny moments but...it just didn't hold my interest like her other series did...

Awesome narration though....

Maybe a sale book if more people review that makes it past chapter 10.....

Half Way Through - I Quit

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Searching for Someday?

It wasn't the scenes, so much as the overall arrogance and negativity of the "hero"...it went on for way to long into the book, with no hint it was going to change.

Any additional comments?

I really tried to like this book, but the "hero" was so unlikable, I finally threw in the towel and removed it from my android. I didn't even skip ahead to see how it ended!

Completely disappointed by Jennifer

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

This book is nothing like Jennifer's earlier books. It lacks believability, strong character connection, suspense, story... So disappointed. Each new book becomes progressively worst. I do think she is a good writer, but will not buy another book unless she proves she spent a good deal of time and energy into it.

Definately Surprised

I have a love/hate relationship with this author; I either love her stories or hate them so I was nervous to take a chance on this book. While I wasn't on the edge of my seat I did enjoy the book and the characters. I enjoyed the flow of the book and I didn't feel as though the story got stuck or was filler.

Can't get into the spark

Girl runs dating service - not very realistic for today.
Girl has magic spark power to find true love - not feeling it.
It's just an okay book, wasn't cute or funny enough for the topics above nor serious enough to love the characters.

Cute

I enjoyed Probst's earlier series. After reading them I expected to have to suspend reality in order to accept the plot line of this book, and I did. It is pretty close to totally implausible. But, this book was light and fluffy. And sometimes fun. Probst has talent and I think she has wasted it so far, but she has enough talent that I will read the fluff she creates.

Again, Maby/Grant is one of my favorite narrators. I always look forward to listening to books she narrates.

Issue 1: Mrs. Montgomery's explanation for filing for a separation was really stupid... that is all

Formulaic

It's like the author took a class on writing a modern romance novel and plugged in all the details that uniformly constitute the genre. Actually some of the side stories and ancillary characters were the best part of the book. The love Kate expresses for her rescue dog; Slade's love and dedication to his sister as well as his representation of a house husband in a divorce speak far stronger than the central theme. The same for Kate's friendship with her two partners and long time friends as well as with her friend Genevieve who was carrying information too difficult to share. Despite those high spots this one is, for the most part anyway, too paint by numbers.

Thanks Again

The story held true to the normal romance but with a little titanic in the mist. It showed that love wasn't always easy and that it did not always come when wanted but only when it was right (timing wise). It was lovely and an easy listen lol.
