The build up of the relationship between the characters is lovely. A very emotionally driven story with some lighthearted moments and comedic characters.

I'm one of the Gen X queer (but not quite queen enough to be accepted by either "side" and I adore the joy that comes with modern gay romance. As there is an under representation of out, male pro athletes, this is still so needed. I kinda want to hear female and non-binary stories too, but I appreciate reading a perspective I have no personal relationship to.

Well written, although I found it a little confusing as to whether the narrators changed with pov or for another reason? Also, some of the initial back stories were quite convoluted. Maybe I wasn't focusing enough, but I often heard Ollie as the younger "voice" and I know that reflects Benji's maturity, but, like I said, slightly confusing at the beginning. I may have become more invested in the story as it developed ;)
