  • Summary

  • Meg Everman (Judy Greer) has spent her entire life putting herself second to everyone around her - and she’s over it. Pushed over the edge by her mother’s (Jane Lynch) unexpected passing, Meg scores a coveted invite to a weekend wellness retreat hosted by SLF-CNTR, an online lifestyle brand Meg’s not sure if she loves... or loves to hate. Leaving her ego-centric husband and daughter (Andy Richter and Hari Nef) behind, Meg and her new friend Shruti (Aparna Nancherla) head out for a weekend of rejuvenation and relaxation at the palatial, Ojai estate of SLF-CNTR’s charismatic founder, Enid Hargrove (Kim Cattrall). But Meg and the other retreat guests soon learn that everything is not as it seems, and eerie clues begin to hint that Enid’s health and beauty secrets are anything but natural.“Self-care,” under Enid’s direction, quickly starts to look a lot like torture, and if Meg wants to get out of her “restorative weekend” alive, she’ll have to confront the personal demons she’s long ignored... and some other demons she may be surprised to learn are all too real.

Great narration, terrible story

The narration was GREAT! The story was really dumb. I never laughed once- wouldn’t recommend.

Really great.

As a trans person, I really loved how the trans character was handled and how the other characters talk about and to her. There were a lot of opportunities for transphobia I was worried about but instead the author just makes her completely true to character. A certain scene did indeed "strike close to home"... that's *exactly* how you should use the fact she's trans. The story isn't even about her though. While it's incredibly obvious where things are going to go, it's also an incredibly hilarious journey to get there.

wanted to love it, but....(SPOILER ALERT)

such great talent but I was unwilling to listen to the end. I got nauseous when listening to the scene about showering in breast milk, then totally grossed out when they were drinking menstrual blood. WAY over the top exaggerated in every way. I had to stop the madness so I stopped the playback.

Had potential but plot got ridiculous

Loved the performances of Judy Greer and Kim Catrall. And I was hooked after the first episode. But then it got all supernatural and ridiculous. If they just would have kept it in reality it could have been great. However I found my eyes rolling more and more. Plus they tried a bit too hard to be edgy so it didn’t land.

I'm glad I didn't pay for this.

It started out good, Big fan of Judy Greer, but it was the content itself. It had potential, but failed flat. Not funny, not even entertaining, I couldn't finish it. It felt like a chore as time went on.
