Publisher's Summary

Chicago’s Ferraro crime family will do anything to protect one of their own in this thrilling entry in the Shadow Riders series from number one New York Times best-selling author Christine Feehan.

Nicoletta Gomez was a terrified teenager when Taviano Ferraro and his brother saved her life. Ever since, she’s been trying to rise above what was done to her, molding herself into a survivor under the protective eyes of the Ferraro family. All the while, she’s been falling hopelessly in love with the man who knows her darkest secrets....

With one look, Taviano knew that Nicoletta was his, just as he felt their shadows connect. But no matter how much he wanted to claim her, he knew she needed time to become her own woman. When Nicoletta once again finds herself in the sights of dangerous men, a split-second decision has Taviano breaking all of the Ferraro family’s rules to keep her safe. And as far as he’s concerned, the reward is more than worth the risk.

Very disappointed - especially after enjoying 1-4

Found the story dragged. While having compassion for what the heroine suffered there was a lot of killing in this book that got to be a bit much. While every single one deserved it the story line went from the family killing people to overlong love scenes. I personally cannot read about people dying and then move seamlessly to getting hot and heavy. Found this book disappointing with little storyline and just a heavy sad feeling. This book just ruined the series for me. Would have preferred to have skipped it and can only hope the next book redeems the series.

Ms. Feehan's work is always a but fir me. And thiughvas usual I was very much enjoying her words and Mr Frangione's performance it all drew to an abrupt halt when the book went from chapter 7 to chapter 10. Very sad.

WOW!!!!

Wow, didn't want this one to end. Was expecting the storyline to go one way and it went in a totally different direction and blew me away. Absolutely loveved the way Nicoletta came into her own. Loved the courage and strength she displayed. Eloisa was the big surprise, wow. Poor Emme, my heart breaks for her. Fantastic read and as usual Jim Frangione is at his absolute best narrating. Emme's book should be up next but I don't want this series to end so bring on all those Ferraro cousins and let's keep things rolling right along

Disappointed

I had been looking forward to this book but when listening I couldn't get into the story. I have read all the others in the series more than once but this one I won't even keep for my library.

So cool.

I own every book she has ever written. Never disappointed. The twists and cool ideas she puts into the stories are great and thought provoking. I can't say enough praise about them. There isn't a single book I haven't read at least twice

I like the story but

if they ask a question at the start of the chapter you didn't get to hear the answer till almost the end it felt like the story was drug out to make the story longer I would get lost sometimes

Great story line

I like the book and the story line, but there is way too much sex. These books are turning into porn with all the sex scenes. When half the story is sex, and you fast forward through most of it, that’s too much. Otherwise, it’s a great book.
