Publisher's Summary
From the moment Officer Ethan Hale pulls Abby Foster from icy waters, he senses there’s more to her than meets the eye. Abby has no memory of the accident that submerged her car in the frozen river. Three years ago, Abby was kidnapped and abandoned in a well for a week. The botched police investigation nearly killed her. Abby had moved to the mountains of Pennsylvania for a fresh start, but when it becomes clear that this car crash wasn’t an accident, she knows the violence from her past has caught up with her.
But Abby’s former assailant was convicted and imprisoned, so who else wants her dead?
Ethan uncovers a fresh string of murders tied to Abby’s past. Someone is trying to kill her, and this time, the stalker seems determined to finish the task. As the killer grows bolder, Abby begins to trust Ethan enough to share the truth, her heart, and her life. But to stop the murders, Ethan must make a decision that could jeopardize it all.

Mystery or romance novel?
Melinda Leigh, like Sandra Brown, is one of those authors who ALWAYS put two or three long and explicit sex scenes in her novels. Leigh, like Sandra Brown, also writes really good mystery novels. She Can Hide is a very good mystery novel. It is also extremely well narrated.

I'll listen to others by this author
Good entertainment. Was not crazy about the narrator at first, but it got better as the story went along. I will definitely try more from this author.

Decent story
Good story- easy to listen to. Nothing earth shattering as far as plot goes. But it was entertaining and I love to listen to a book while I'm driving!

Getting Predictable
The narrator was pretty good but the plotline is getting predictable... a love story imtertwined with danger, a hot hero and a dog. Hopefully the next book changes it up.

Family!
Opening chapter was great!
Wasn't expecting the news about Abby's mother or her estranged father's wife involvement in anything. Very interesting story. Good read!

TSTL - Too Stupid To Live - Ugh
What disappointed you about She Can Hide?
I listened to about 3/4's of this book when the main character pulled the ultimate bone headed - too stupid to live - action. I can tolerate a lot of things in a book - but I cannot stand a dumb character. This chick is dumb as a brick....I couldn't even finish the book.
What could Melinda Leigh have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Not rely on an obvious - too stupid to live - action by the main character to advance the plot. I like smart women who know when it's time to let the professionals take over. Brave is one thing - stupid quite another. These newer authors need to go back and read Linda Howard, Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb, etc. They know how to write a good plot without reducing the main character to stupidity to advance said plot.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Amy Rubinate?
She was fine.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Irritation....
Any additional comments?
****Spoiler Alert*** When you are sleeping with a cop - why would you abandon his protection to go off and play detective thinking you could save the day when there are dead bodies stacking up like cord wood and you have no clue how to locate the bad guys. Stupid is as stupid does I suppose. I have enjoyed the other books in this series - this one bombed.....

Satisfying ending, tough beginning
This book was hard to get into. Despite starting right in with action, it still felt slow for quite awhile. It took quite a bit to start feeding out some story, and to draw me in enough to care.
There was the reappearance of some familiar characters, and the introduction of several new ones who were quite likeable.
The main female character was super strong and capable, while still experiencing appropriate fear and doubt, which I loved!
Still not fond of this narrator. Just too light, not a serious enough voice to carry the strong drama and danger.

She Can Hide Book 4
I will say that this was best of the other books thus far as I have read. It was very engaging and takes you alone as you try to figure out who was puting out the kill on the high school teacher. Although it looks likes they killer was very business taking care of what looks like his own wants. But time helps to buy the police and the father of the lady time to start making correction of his past action. Most people will not have done the right thing in the end and to learn that his wife was the one all along who has been trying hard to kill his daughter. This book is very entertaining and I did enjoy reading.
