Winner of the 2014 Golden Leaf Award

In one moment, high school teacher and single mother Brooke Davenport interrupts a vicious assault, saves a young woman’s life, and attracts the attention of a serial killer.

Sixteen years ago, Brooke lost her roommate to a brutal murder. Now she teaches women’s self-defense, still trying to heal from the guilt and grief that plague her. Convinced the predator knows his victims and is stalking his prey online, she is determined to find him before he strikes again. Her brother’s friend, Luke, has the computer expertise to help. But Brooke’s unexpected desire for Luke complicates her investigation, and her fixation with the case provokes a deadly reaction from the killer.

Injured in a terrorist bombing overseas, computer expert Luke Holloway is still haunted by flashbacks of his young assistant’s death in the explosion. But Luke can’t refuse the request of a deployed friend to look after his sister, Brooke. Taking on responsibility for Brooke’s safety threatens Luke’s tenuous recovery, especially after he develops feelings for her that transcend a promise to a friend. When Brooke saves a young girl from a brutal assault and becomes a killer’s obsession, Luke vows to protect her at all costs.

Don't read this when you are home alone!

Would you listen to She Can Scream again? Why?

Listening to this book was like watching a horror movie - you really didn't want to know who was hiding behind the door but you couldn't turn your eyes away. For this reason I am sure there are small parts of this book that I missed and so I know I will listen to it again.

'She Can Scream' was extremely well written and as with other books in this series it had that 'I didn't see that coming' edge to it.

What was one of the most memorable moments of She Can Scream?

Most memorable was when the killer made himself known - he was the last person I thought of.

Which scene was your favorite?

I guess my favourite scene was when Brooke and Luke were able to see that what had happened to them in the past was something that while terrible and shattering - was not something they could have prevented from happening. It's great to know that there lives will not be forever ruled by moments in the past.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

You can scream but you cannot hide!

Any additional comments?

Amy Rubinate's narration was excellent. 'She Can Scream' is well worth the credit.

OK

The story was OK for the most part. There was no cheating or blatant misunderstandings. Brooke's dog does not get killed or hurt. But...the guilt and responsibility both MCs felt towards those who died was ridiculous. So to keep bringing that up was just trying to shove a plot line down our throats. Otherwise, a typical suspense.

She Can Scream

Great characters and suspenseful story in this third books of the She Can series. In the previous books I easily figured out who the bad guy was. This one I was taken completely by surprise, I loved it! The audio was definitely more enjoyable than the previous one.

Fun read but more of the same

I've read (listened to) the first 3 in this series. They are good story lines with twist endings you may not see coming. By the third, however, pretty redundant. Same story with minor changes. While I still enjoyed reading them, the narrators voices are sooo annoying. One whiny and shrill, the other breathy. I would have enjoyed the story more if read by another.

One more entry in the how dumb can you be genre...

Yet another heroine who apparently is too dumb to follow her own advice (she is a women's self defense instructor) and an author who apparently thinks the reader is even dumber than the heroine. This story is frustrating in so many ways, the only thing I enjoyed was its end. Save your money and your time, pass on this one.

Only ok, not as good as the first two books

She Can Scream was ok, but not the quality of the first two books in the series.

Very enjoyable

A story well worth the price, and I got the series, and I was surprised how good they were for the price.
