Publisher's Summary

There is a plot to kidnap Queen Victoria and only Sherlock Holmes can stop it...or can he?

Investigating a crime seemingly unconnected to the Royal Family, Holmes & Watson uncover a conspiracy to kidnap Queen Victoria and destabilise the British Empire.

With a ticking clock to her next public engagement, Holmes and Watson must discover who is behind the plot and locate her majesty, while Mycroft tries to keep the monarch’s disappearance a secret from the British people.

At first, Holmes believes Moriarty is responsible for the abduction, but when the Napoleon of Crime is proved innocent, Holmes must work with his arch-nemesis to rescue the Queen.

An Audible Original drama starring Nicholas Boulton as Sherlock Holmes and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith as Dr. John Watson alongside a full cast.

You can also join the detective duo in an interactive murder mystery story on Alexa, where the power lies in your hands. Just ask 'Alexa, start the Great Game' to solve a crime committed before we meet Holmes and Watson in the Audible Original drama.

Exactly what I was searching for.

Mann and Scott have written a beautiful and mysterious novel, transporting you back to the grim streets and elegant castles of Victorian England. The cast is very well chosen and there is a noticeable attention to detail in the sound effects, dialogue and clarity of the story. I was engaged throughout and it was hard to take breaks - I couldn't wait to reach the next twist or turn in the mystery. You can clearly see the writers' love for Sherlock, and they've done an excellent job of capturing his notorious personality. But whether you've read all the books or are a newcomer to detective stories I'm sure you'll find it an enthralling listen.

Audiobooks have many differences from reading a normal book and I've always thought they should take advantage of those differences by using the presence of sound to draw you into the scene through dialogue and sound effects. Voice of Treason is the type of cinematic creation I was looking for. Because of the lack of narration/visuals I was worried it would be difficult to keep up with what the characters were doing and where they were, but was pleasantly surprised at how they wove those details into the dialogue. It didn't feel unnatural or out of place at all.

This has been one of my favourite audiobooks so far. My only suggestion would be to use more short music clips to aid in the transitions between scenes.

A fun radio drama that’s well worth a credit!

This is not a book; it’s an original audio drama, acted with a full cast and effects. As an avid lover of the original Sherlock Holmes stories (I’ve read them all several times), I’m always excited and a bit nervous about new works that use the characters. This was worth the gamble: the characters feel true to Conan-Doyle’s vision, the story is full of intrigue and twists, and the ending ties everything up perfectly. Holmes fans will enjoy this one!

Not really a Holmes book

Hate it when authors market books as being Holmes books when he's just an ancillary character in the book. Whole chapters where Holmes is irrelevant to the developments. Disappointing.

This is not an audiobook.

This is an audio performance. It reminds me of old-school radio serials. Where you are given sound effects and a full cast, but the only narrative exposition comes from the dialogue. This unfortunately leads to character lines that are overly engineered to let the listener know what is happening. Which I just couldn't get into.

The voice acting seems quite good actually. I also believe the story had some potential. This format is just not for me.

Audiobook of the future

The cast does an excellent job of blending story to play. Please continue as a series.

Don’t waste your time

Preposterous story. Enough said. Could never be written by Doyle. Very very very disappointed at Holmes treatment.

Well done gentlemen, well done.

This audio drama is done up quite well. It is written in the style of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and it is a story that he would have favored. That acting well top notch, and there are only a few editing errors. It should be noted, however, that these errors do not take away from this story. As a life long fan of Mr. Sherlock Holmes, I would recommend this story to anyone who wants to hear a new take on a beloved classic.

Yay! The game is more than afoot!

First off, this is not a book but a radio play with all the accompanying sound effects which add to the belief the reader is in Nineteenth century England.

The cast was excellent! Especially the woman who played Queen Victoria. Bravo!

So tell me this... when is the next adventure for Holmes and Watson?

Soap Opera , with some detective story

good performance. story was a drag, more like a soap opera at times. not a classic Holmes story.
