Publisher's Summary

The host of Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson Tonight offers a blistering critique of the new American ruling class, the elites of both parties, who have taken over the ship of state, leaving the rest of us, the citizen-passengers, to wonder: How do we put the country back on course?

Happily surprised, Tucker is much more nuanced than you’d expect, trust me

My only knowledge of Tucker Carlson was limited and superficial before reading this book. Like most people my age (mid-twenties), I had seen videos of his Fox show on Youtube. I had a neutral opinion of him, found him sometimes right, sometimes wrong, sometimes open-minded, sometimes stubborn, etc. This audiobook is a deep dive into Carlson’s opinion on different topics (most of them politically charged), and it is not what you’d expect. This format allows him to throughly develop his positions and opinions in a way he simply could not do on his show. I devoured the book within a few days. Once you’re done listening to the book, I recommend you go watch his interview with Ben Shapiro during one his recent “Sunday Special”. It’s on Youtube and it’s a great one. Enjoy!

If you like Tucker, you'll love this book

I finished this book in one straight shot and found myself annoyed by anyone calling me or messaging me, subsequently interrupting, no matter how urgent the message. Tucker's wit and comedic timing shine through and make this an absolute pleasure to listen to and I was glad he narrated it himself. I didn't agree with everything in it, but honestly would have been disappointed if I had, knowing it would mean I've fallen prey to ideology rather than empiricism. That being said, even the points of disagreement I found interesting and thought provoking. He easily and quickly expounds the way our world seems to be loosing its grip on reality. Also nice to hear was his bipartisan stance, he calls our Republicans when it is diligent to do so. Definitely a great books, and I won't be surprised if I find myself listening to it a second or even third time!

Great commentary on American's current politics

This is my favorite book about American's current political climate. Tucker does a great job breaking down how the Liberal elite use identity politics, environmentalism and socialism as a smokescreen to keep the public from questioning them. 10/10

A must read for the 21st century intellectual

Tucker Carlos demonstrates without a shadow of the doubt that he’s one of today’s most advanced thinkers.

The writing as well as narration are very factual and straight forward.

If you even mildly consider yourself as a modern thinker or intellectual- this book is a must read.

Tucker is always entertaining you can't go wrong there. Only complaint is that its too short without enough depth.

Hits the nail on the head

Carlson hits the nail on the head when he highlights that many of the problems in North America are a symptom of the growing gap between rich and poor/elites and regular people. The book itself is super informative and has a ton of examples. I'll be listening to this one again for sure!

Excellent analysis of our governance

The west were once healthy prosperous nations. The aptly described fools have turned our nations into sick hopelessly indebted basket cases. America can drain the swamp before it becomes inhospitable.

Not what I expected!

Tucker Carlson hit it out of the park with this book. I’m a independent voter. I could careless about either major party. This book really points the fingers at who/what’s to blame for Trump, and how things are not going to get better unless we have change, and change is not what our ruling class wants. The ruling class is not who you expected and politicians are the puppets. Great read!

Great book

Tucker can really cut to the truth about many subjects. Going to read again, I bought audible and hard back to have in my book shelf as a reference book.

Read if you want to hear about how ridiculous the ruling elite are

. I rarely read or listen to non-fiction books on the political climate of America. I get my news left, right and center and try to find the truth. I’m not a regular watcher of Fox nor CNN. Truthfully I listen to talk radio (from NPR to KFI). I found myself, as a moderate (and a scientist) agreeing with basically every single element of this book. I’m now looking for an article that tries to find reasons to disagree.
Overall his voice played well in the car and in headphones during runs. It was the right tempo without having to speed it up or slow it down. The writing was straight forward and yes, I laughed, gasped, hit my steering wheel and yelled with agreement while running, driving, making dinner, washing dishes, and cleaning the house. I have recommend this book to my friends and family. My 18 year old son even loved listening one night while I cooked. It sparked a great 45 minute dinner conversation. Thank you Tucker Carlson.

Best political book in quite a while

At 6.5 hours in length SHIP OF FOOLS is shorter than most political books, but the concise statements of issues and proposals of solutions it are uniquely focused. I've never watched his Fox News program but I may give it a try.

Excellent, wish it was twice as long. Found myself listening to it passively in my car and actively at home.

common sense opinions

Tucker hits home with his facts and opinions regarding how healthy societies stay healthy. I agree with Tucker that the democratic party and the Republican party have always kept each other in check and despite differences, we had far more in common with each other and for the most part we were civil to each other.....we have strayed so far from this dynamic that I'm actually nervous about sharing my opinion now.....and that's not good....
