One day, while out in his corn field, Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella hears the voice of a baseball announcer saying, “If you build it, he will come.” “He,” of course, is Ray's hero, Joe Jackson. “It” is a baseball stadium, which Ray carves out of his corn field.

Having always loved first and foremost Baseball. This W.P.Kinsella tale of Shoeless Joe brought back so many fond memories of all those summer weekends playing or watching baseball as a small boy growing up in New Westminster B.C. Canada,perhaps mentions of a Datsun automobile or use of a MasterCharge credit card helped to trigger my thoughts of those days at the ballpark. A must read/listen for any true lover of the so called American pastime,the sport of baseball. To quote former Major Leaguer Sami Sosa,”Baseball has been Very Very Good to Me.🇨🇦🇺🇸⚾️🇨🇦🇺🇸.

Yet another audible book without a proper index. This one doesn't even follow the chapters in the book. Disappointing.

I loved this book, as much as the movie. There are extra things in the book that never made the movie and I think it would be a great book for anyone who also loved the movie.

A must for true fans of the game.

It's hard not to enjoy this book as much as I enjoy the Field of Dreams movie. While there are some inconsequential story differences, the book adds a rich background not possible to provide on film. Thoroughly enjoyed listening!
