Story
Every time I turn around, new opponents are looking to knock me down. No part of the magical community is safe. And now my enemies have left me with a horrible accusation hanging over my head, using so many tricks I can barely defend myself. If I want to clear my name and keep my freedom, I have to turn to the guys who once made my life hell. They've changed their tune and made amends, but how far can I really count on them? Especially if they find out that my greatest foes are within their families.

Story
In a month, I've gone from magicless to one of the most powerful dark mages in the world. You'd think that would make my life easier. But all that power is only potential until I learn how to wield it, and my enemies have a huge head start. While I'm picking up every skill I can, adversaries both within Villain Academy and beyond it are working to knock me down. My fellow scions? I can count at least a couple of them among those enemies. The others...let's just say the lines between light and dark have gotten a lot more blurred.

Story
I thought I was ordinary Rory Franco: college student, artist, and over-protected daughter. Then, mages barge into my family’s home, murder my parents, and whisk me off to a university known as Villain Academy. It turns out I’m Persephone Bloodstone, the long lost heir to one of the five royal families of dark magic. I’m destined to learn how to manipulate the world with fear - and to stand beside the four other scions: the scorching-hot, arrogant young men who rule this school. The four of them crush anyone who doesn’t kowtow.

Story
I was starting to think I knew what I was dealing with here at the university best known as Villain Academy. Not so much. But can I really trust a shocking revelation from someone who's proven to be my enemy? There's no way to answer that without diving in. If my mother is still out there alive, I have to uncover the truth. Even if it means putting myself back in the hands of the mages who've betrayed me before.

Story
Having my birth mother back in my life? To say it's a big transition is an understatement. Especially when she's basically a stranger to me, and I'm not sure yet whether I can trust her to be any more maternal than the average fearmancer parent (which, spoiler, isn't much). Unfortunately, the other barons aren't giving me time to ease into the situation. They've turned their sights on my fellow scions and newfound lovers, putting them under fire from far too close to home. As if that wasn't enough, an unsettling plan is unfolding that threatens every student on campus.

Story
I've won one victory against my enemies, but it seems the barons are just getting started with their new, vicious schemes. They'll stop at nothing to expand their power. Any move I make to oppose them could have horrible consequences for both me and the guys I love. My only hope is playing along until the right opportunity comes my way. There's a chance I could sway my mother if I can earn her trust. She may be brutal when she feels she needs to be, but I've seen glimpses of a softer side underneath.

Publisher's Summary
Do I want to spend my summer with my vicious classmates at Bloodstone University - better known as Villain Academy? No, thank you. But I've got to find a way to tackle my enemies before they try to destroy me again, and the trail to potential answers starts there.
I've had it with taking the high road, though. Come at me, and you'd better believe I'll hit you back just as hard. Maybe that'll mean I have to tap into my dark magic instincts more than I'd ever have planned to, but I'm not letting one more person I care about get hurt.
That also means I've got to steer clear of the one guy I completely trust, or I might ruin his life, too. With two of the other scions vying for my attention and the last shifting his campaign against me in an unexpected way, I've got my hands full as it is.
I can't say whether I'll survive everything this summer has in store. All I know for sure is it's going to be a hot one.
Sinister Wizardry is the third book in a university-age paranormal academy series. Expect magical villainy, a tough heroine who bends to no one’s will, a dollop of steam, and a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers reverse harem romance where there'll be no choosing required.

The academy has never been more cutthroat
I love this story about Rory, Declan, Connor, Jude and Malcolm and the summer semester at the academy. The way the guys attempt to get into Rory's good graces and the mystery that is unraveling around the Barrons is amazing and spellbinding.

Rory is becoming one of my favorite MCs in an RH ❤️
Wow, Eva is not pulling any punches is she?? The bullying in this one was pretty tough from a certain scion but I think things finally clicked for Malcolm and things will start to get better for Rory (in terms of the scion relationships). I thought that lake scene was so freaking hot, but what Malcolm did after....Rory's reaction was 100% justified and he better be groveling for a long time before she forgives him for all his crap. I think he was disgusted at himself and like I said...lightbulb moment for sure. Now in terms of the others, I am happy with the developments with Jude and Connar, like I love them so much I can't stand it. I think they finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and realize Rory is good for them. Despite all the outside forces, I can see them being her biggest supporters in the future. I really liked the summer project idea and Rory's idea. I enjoyed seeing more of her powers develop, see more about the world of the fearmancers and ways to go about dealing with issues/attacks/defenses/etc. I was happy to see Jude realize his mistake (that was an adorable way to make things right) and was happy to see Rory try and get back to normal with Imogen. I honestly will say I didn't see the end coming and I immediately starting listening to Book 4 because I was shook with that cliffy haha.
In terms of narration, marvelous job. I felt the emotions from both narrators, some hitting me in the pit of my stomach and making me disgusted with people's behaviors (drove home the point of the bullying) and some made me have to fan myself, not gonna lie 🤣🤣🤣. I thought the narrators did a better job with their counterpart voices (like when Meg does the male voices and Stephen does the female voices). 5/5 easily from me, now on to book 4 ❤️❤️❤️

Better and better!
These just keep getting more interesting. Always wondering what powers she can use next? Who/what evil is after her now? Which of the boys will she choose or more than one? They all seem either like of dislike each other but not her. They fight amongst each other about their actions and how they are family and they should just get along.
Even though this is a large cast we get to see some new people introduced. Rory has some relatives and family friends coming out of the woodwork. Rory just impresses me already fighting to good fight. No temptation....other than the boys.
I did listen to this on audio. Meg Sylvan and Stephen Dexter are always a joy to listen to.

Another great book!!!
Warning- this books ends on a pretty big cliffhanger.. but it is soooo good!!!!!
So we picked up where we left off. Rory's mentor died but left her a key to help her get some answers. Jude did something so horrible that ended up in Shelby leaving the school. :(. Declan is still aces in my book. Malcom is still mean and I think Connor is coming around.
So Rory is going the summer school session where she finds out she must use her powers on the naries in a project. Rory, being the awesome person she is, does something unexpected with this.
The tension between the naries and the mages gets more intense in this book . The cliffhanger just about killed me!!!! I can't wait for the next book. As always I love the duel narration from Stephen and Meg.

Summer Classes get HOT!
Sinister Wizardry by Eva Chase and narrated by Meg Sylvan and Stephen Dexter is book 3 in the Villain Academy series.
I love this book, as Rory does everything she can to take fear and turn it into something good. Connor and Jude have changed their attitudes toward Rory and are now trying to help her while Malcolm is still trying to destroy her. Declan is doing what he can to help her but keeping his distance at the same time. Rory is still trying to deal with Imogen after her betrayal but giving her a chance regardless. As it seems to be so far in each book, there's a murder and this time, Rory is charged.
Follow Rory and her harem of Scions through the summer adventure and see just where not choosing gets you.
I highly recommend this book and so far the entire series.
