A Gentle Yet Compelling Mystery
I loved this book!
It is a compelling and atmospheric cosy crime novel.
I found the story to be very engaging as it captures the best elements of the people living in a small village in post-war Britain.
It perfectly captures Dorset village life after WW2 but before modern technology changed community life completely. Well constructed, the story combines drama with gentle humour as it describes the lives and intrigues of the quirky village residents.
The narrator is wonderful and vividly brings the characters to life.
This is a book I was sorry to finish as it transported me into the period, and into the community, and it allowed me to share for a time the lives of the characters.

Relaxing listen. Gentle story, well narrated
Well written, pleasant story that will have you dreaming of the quiet life. Beautifully descriptive. Nothing much really happens, bar a few minor excitements, but I enjoyed listening to it so much I hardly noticed.
Save this one for a time when you don’t feel like something too stressful or exciting.
