Publisher's Summary

Seekers control the elemental forces of the world and must climb the World Tree for ultimate power. Dren, a ragtag thief from a dystopian world, is dropped into a land teeming with gods, monsters, magical creatures, and more.

Dren has nothing. He’s tenacious. And charming. Yep, that’s about it. But pluck can only get you so far when gods collide.

Solid Book

I really enjoyed this book. I give it an 8 out of 10. I especially appreciate the "bloopers" at the end. Although it should have been labeled deleted scenes. It's full of jokes that didn't make the final cut, even breaking the 4th wall.
The power structure is such that it is conceivably possible for someone Much weaker to beat someone Way stranger, even if it's pretty much unheard of. A lot of times your like, That shouldn't be possible! How ridiculous! But it actually makes sense in this world.
My only complaint is the voices the narrator chose for the MC and his AI companion. I still like them, but some people will find the AI really annoying. And the MC could be a bit more fun cool guy and less New Jersey wimpy thug. But now that I say that he is from Post Apocalypse New York so I can see were the inspiration came from.
