Beautifully read, not the strongest story line, but this author has 'it'. Punch up the story line in the next novel and it will be 5 stars!

A truly immersive experience. This story is a poetic and authentic portrayal of a second generation Ghanaian experience. Azumah Nelson captures grief, loss and pain in a beautifully poetic way. I hope this book gets the love it deserves be a it is phenomenal.

Character driven. Beautiful prose. Captures the way music feels. So tuned into life and its textures that the threats posed by violence and grief feel all the more painful.

I honestly can find no fault here. The story was told beautifully. The prose was stirring and evoked such vivid imagery with every word. I loved the plot and the characters. Even those with little ‘screen time’ didn’t feel wasted to me. I will definitely listen to this book again. The author is a wonderful narrator as well and did his novel justice.
