Publisher's Summary

A war is brewing in the Empire.

Not the War in the East - that is a war everyone already knows about, the war that some wanted to end so badly that they murdered an Emperor to stop it. No, this is a different war. A war between the Shadowlands and the mortal world, a war between light and darkness. A war the Brotherhood of Culo has warned about for generations. But no one wanted to listen.

And as war brews, an Empress in exile struggles to regain her crown, and the warrior sworn to protect that Empress fights to make it back to her. Yet the warrior faces an enemy which even she, the Empire’s greatest living sword master, may not be able to defeat: The warrior battles time itself.

And time is running out for the soldiers of the House of Dorsa.

The shadows are coming. Can you hear them?

This is book two in a series of three. Listen to Princess of Dorsa first!

Great 2nd story for the series.

Not as good as the first for me because the MC's were apart most of the book and all the flashbacks were a bit boring except for Josylin's past with her teacher which was nice to learn. I felt like the other flashbacks of Tasia's past with her siblings etc didn't add much and I couldn't wait for them to end and get back to good stuff. I ended up speeding up the narration as fast as I could understand on those parts which made me give this story 4 stars instead of 5. I really didn't want to do because I enjoyed the rest so much but It's one of my rules if the story makes me speed up parts it looses a star. Overall still a really great story and definitely recommend all to read.

How dare you do this to me Andrews?!?! Now I’m hooked and there is no book 3! ;)

Wow. Okay I am a new Audiobook junkie. (I’m two years in and I’m in deep...haha) I love me an audiobook and I drive for a living. So listen to hundreds of hours of books.

I went right from book 1 (The Princess of Dorsa) to book 2! Finished them back to back and loved every minute. I finished them in a couple of days....I’m going to delisted when Book 3 is out! ;)

The world is full and the characters are constantly growing and faced with their own lessons and moments for growth. And I love it. I read a review that said there wasn’t enough “romance”, but I’m all here for the self improvement and self development aspect of these books. I love this! Characters should be about other versions of love, love doesn’t always have to be romance. Friendships, and community, parenthood, sisterhood and passion to help others. Romance is highly overrated. That being said....the main characters romance is so enjoyable. Haha. And I can’t wait for the next book. The ending was so satisfying but at the same time I kind of wish I had discovered this series after it was written....because now I’m waiting! Oh trust me I am waiting! I want all things Dorsa! I love the names, and places, and the history that is being created. It is very visual and I can see it clearly. Okay. So I liked the book. :) You should read it! Okay? Okay! ;)

I am quite put off if I don’t enjoy the voice actors voice. I LOVE the voice actor for this series. She is amazing. Now I will look for more that she is reading. She is a new favourite. I do usually look for books read by Abby Craden. But now Elizabeth Saydeh is a new favourite! ;) PLEASE have her read Book 3!!!! *fingers crossed* PLEASE!

And now I’ll read all of Andrews books as well. Thank goodness because I was running out of authors. Phew! I drive for 7 hours a day. So. That would be awful. ;)
