Publisher's Summary

A war is brewing in the Empire.

Not the War in the East - that is a war everyone already knows about, the war that some wanted to end so badly that they murdered an Emperor to stop it. No, this is a different war. A war between the Shadowlands and the mortal world, a war between light and darkness. A war the Brotherhood of Culo has warned about for generations. But no one wanted to listen.

And as war brews, an Empress in exile struggles to regain her crown, and the warrior sworn to protect that Empress fights to make it back to her. Yet the warrior faces an enemy which even she, the Empire’s greatest living sword master, may not be able to defeat: The warrior battles time itself.

And time is running out for the soldiers of the House of Dorsa.

The shadows are coming. Can you hear them?

This is book two in a series of three. Listen to Princess of Dorsa first!

How dare you do this to me Andrews?!?! Now I’m hooked and there is no book 3! ;)

Wow. Okay I am a new Audiobook junkie. (I’m two years in and I’m in deep...haha) I love me an audiobook and I drive for a living. So listen to hundreds of hours of books. I went right from book 1 (The Princess of Dorsa) to book 2! Finished them back to back and loved every minute. I finished them in a couple of days....I’m going to delisted when Book 3 is out! ;) The world is full and the characters are constantly growing and faced with their own lessons and moments for growth. And I love it. I read a review that said there wasn’t enough “romance”, but I’m all here for the self improvement and self development aspect of these books. I love this! Characters should be about other versions of love, love doesn’t always have to be romance. Friendships, and community, parenthood, sisterhood and passion to help others. Romance is highly overrated. That being said....the main characters romance is so enjoyable. Haha. And I can’t wait for the next book. The ending was so satisfying but at the same time I kind of wish I had discovered this series after it was written....because now I’m waiting! Oh trust me I am waiting! I want all things Dorsa! I love the names, and places, and the history that is being created. It is very visual and I can see it clearly. Okay. So I liked the book. :) You should read it! Okay? Okay! ;) I am quite put off if I don’t enjoy the voice actors voice. I LOVE the voice actor for this series. She is amazing. Now I will look for more that she is reading. She is a new favourite. I do usually look for books read by Abby Craden. But now Elizabeth Saydeh is a new favourite! ;) PLEASE have her read Book 3!!!! *fingers crossed* PLEASE! And now I’ll read all of Andrews books as well. Thank goodness because I was running out of authors. Phew! I drive for 7 hours a day. So. That would be awful. ;)

Sleep the only thing that stopped me from finishing this book in one sitting

If there’s a merciful higher being then there will be another book I’m so invested in this story and how it ends that I’d be crushed if just ended now the characters storytelling and everything about this was pure magic

Adventure and Excitement

Exciting and complex. Well developed character stories within a multilevel storyline. Excellent read. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Fantastic. Highly recommend.

I could not stop listening! As with the first book in this series, I feel that we’ve finally been given a LGBQT storyline that is well written, brilliantly creative/entertaining, and had zero cringeworthy pandering gay moments that are so prevalent in this sub-genre. Also, I had to admit to my wife that I have a HUGE crush on Jocelyn. When does the movie/tv show come out?!

Can't wait for Empress of Dorsa

This was a great 2nd installment in the series, I got through Princess of Dorsa in 2 days and tore through Soldier in another 3. Amazing series with character you truly root for, and a high-stakes plot that can really rope you in. I love the worldbuilding in this second book, adding detail to stories and character histories we only got hints of in the first one. I really love not only Tasia and Joslyn, but the supporting characters as well (Brick! Linna! Ku-sai! Milo! Ammanta! So many). I wish the author the best so that Empress can come out as soon as realistically possible haha

Constant violence

17 hours of violence. Grammatical errors and unnecessary explanation of character behavior. Too long. Weird story. Maybe it’s just not my thing. Other people liked it.

Unnecessary Flashbacks

Flashbacks are rarely worthwhile and certainly not here. After the first few, I started skipping through them as I just couldn’t maintain interest. This work would have been significantly better without these unnecessary portions.

As good as Lord of The Rings!

This is an amazing book! I can’t get over it. I am sad I have to wait for the third one to come out. I would rate this with the Chronicles of Narnia and Lord of the Rings. Listen to this book you won’t regret it!
