Anything can be measured. This bold assertion is the key to solving many problems in business and life in general. The myth that certain things can't be measured is a significant drain on our nation's economy, public welfare, the environment, and even national security. In fact, the chances are good that some part of your life or your professional responsibilities is greatly harmed by a lack of measurement---by you, your firm, or even your government.

Story
How can we apply technology to drive business value? For years we've been told that the performance of software delivery teams doesn't matter - that it can't provide a competitive advantage to our companies. Through four years of groundbreaking research to include data collected from the State of DevOps reports conducted with Puppet, Dr. Nicole Forsgren, Jez Humble, and Gene Kim set out to find a way to measure software delivery performance - and what drives it - using rigorous statistical methods. This book presents both the findings and the science behind that research, making the information accessible for listeners to apply in their own organizations.

Story
What is it about the top tech product companies such as Amazon, Apple, Google, Netflix, and Tesla that enables their record of consistent innovation? Most people think it's because these companies are somehow able to find and attract a level of talent that makes this innovation possible. But the real advantage these companies have is not so much who they hire, but rather how they enable their people to work together to solve hard problems and create extraordinary products.

Story
The retired four-star general and and best-selling author of My Share of the Task shares a powerful new leadership model. Former General Stanley McChrystal held a key position for much of the War on Terror, as head of the Joint Special Operations Command. In Iraq, he found that despite the vastly superior resources, manpower, and training of the US Military, Al Qaeda had an advantage because of its structure as a loose network of small, independent cells. To defeat such an agile enemy, JSOC had to change its focus from efficiency to adaptability.

A fresh take on a broad range of concepts
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It covers a broad range of agile and lean ways of working concepts. The tie ins to other IT Rev publications are great reminders for those who have read other books by this publisher. It doesn't feel like an ad on but rather quite complementarity to those wanting to improve their organizations for the digital age.

Fantastic
Listened to first few chapters, then bought the book as well. I actually listened and read the book at the same time. What a great way to embed the information.
Loved the patterns / anti-patterns approach. Will be able to use some of the case studies at work.
Will be reading / listening to the again soon.

For all people who want to improve the way we work
This is one of the most comprehensive books on agile patterns and anti-patterns I have read. I found myself recognizing many of the anti-patterns in my own organization and then learning about patterns to try and correct the trajectory. I plan on purchasing several copies and sharing them with my colleagues.

Nothing new, narrated numbingly
I try not to be over-critical of fellow narrators, but the casting and direction didn’t fit a book that repeats lots of catchphrases and refers to lots of graphics.
Arguably, this shouldn’t even be an audiobook.

Great content and real world stories but waaay too repetitive. I had to check on more than one occasion that Audible picked up at the right spot and didn't skip back. If this same info were given in 1/4 the size it would be easy 4 stars and possibly 5.

Great Insights and Summary (bvssh)
Narration could be livelier. Insightful Content & examples. Had fun pausing and reflecting..
I came across Jonathan's video from Unicorn Project, and followed through his works, got hooked to his simple explanations and hilariously artistic description of Certified Really Agile Practitioner. This book gives a more in depth look into Bvssh. If you need convincing, search @jonsmart on YouTube.
