Publisher's Summary

Then:

The heavens exploded and rained destruction down upon the world of Palar, hurling the Gods from their thrones and shattering their kingdoms.

The world of Palar died that day but humanity did not. Thousands of survivors eventually found themselves drawn to the strange city of Horizon, which was built from pieces of fallen heaven and hell.

Humanity found shelter there, and they found hope.

They also found their gods.

Now:

Kel Lothless is a sorcerer for hire. He’s also a part time troubleshooter, with a well known dislike for the Gods that run Horizon.

When a group of priests called Maskers try to hire him, he discovers a secret that changes everything he knows about the city of Horizon, and finds the answers that could destroy his world.

Kel has to work fast to solve a mystery that threatens the Last City, but he’s not alone. Because to find the answers, he has the help of a mysterious alchemist, the masked priests of the Goddess of Love, and a zombie necromancer priest.

It's a tale of murder, deceit, and of magic best left alone, and a secret that, when revealed, will change the face of Palar forever....

Again.

Fascinating new Fantasy World, fantastic performance.

Have read David Sarachman’s books, and was thrilled by the quality and talented audio performance of this first book in the series.
As with the book, it took me a little while to truly become invested in the characters. The very different world Sarachman presents is nothing like those commonly presented in the most well known if SciFi/Fantasy series. Very unique and ultimately fascinating. By the end of the book Sorcerer when it first came out, I was totally invested in the characters…and waiting with bated breath for book 2. By the end of this audio version I am again chomping at the bit for book 2 to come to Audible! I was worried I wouldn’t like the audio version but was totally captivated by the audio performance!!
Sarachman’s world is well worth investing credits in … don’t want to bring spoilers into review…but having read the series can honestly say book one is just a warm up teaser in a can’t stop reading/listening book series.

An epic fantasy

This introduction to the World of Horizon series sparks your imagination with vivid imagery and creative mythology. The magic and chaos of this dystopian universe is brought to life so eloquently. The sardonic wit and humour with which the Sorcerer tells the tale is incredible. Looking forward to the rest of the books!

Unique and captivating world

With witty writing style the author takes us through a unique and fascinating world of fallen gods occupying a living city. The characters have depth and complex relationships with each other and the world in which they live. Well worth the read.
