Publisher's Summary

From book one: Being able to rip the soul out of a creature, store it in a precious gem, and use it to cast spells might make me the most powerful student at the Astra Argent Magical Academy. Only I can’t tell anybody about it.

Because it's illegal, and they’ll kill me if they find out.

But they need me whether they know it yet or not, so I’m going to capture a lot of souls and cast a lot of spells.

This is gonna be a crazy semester.

This is a monster-girl harem dark-magic academy story.

Great story, Bad performance

the story is really good. However, the performer needs to slow the hell down. Its as if he is getting paid salary, and can't wait to go home. He needs to pause where there should be pauses and slow down when appropriate. Speed is all he does.

Meh..It is what it is.

Dont buy if your looking for an incredible adventure with complex world worldbuilding. Do buy if your just looking for some light fantasy with fun (if not predictable) characters. I would compare it to watching a bunch of YouTube videos because you have nothing better to do. A great time-killer but nothing special to to write home about.

What’s wrong with me?

Don’t know why but I can’t stop. The story was actually adorable, till the flowers happened (that’s cool). The narrators were great, Alex’s high voices are a joy, and Marissa can switch so damn easily. I hope I don’t burnout on later installments

Backstory confusion

One thing this really needed was a back-story. Throughout the first quarter to halfway through I feel lost in confusion.

Narration, filler

Couldn't stand it. Made it to chapter 3 and turned it off to ride in silence

Plot wanders around and never finishes

Started out interesting enough but the plot wandered around. Supposedly interesting little tells all led to nothing as they were not followed up. Third act was non-existent. No resolution other than teenage wish fulfillment sex scenes. Really needed a good editor to get the story on track and keep it there.

Great one

so i really liked the idea and story of this book but i probably won't be buying the second one on audible i could barely stand the male narrator, it made me cringe more than once the only reason i finished the audiobook was because i love the work of logan jacobs and the female narrator was able to make it up for the not so good partner
