The magic system is REALLY cool. I haven’t seen any other system quite like it, which intrigues me quite a bit. Quite flexible, but also building based, which I love as a premise. Narrator was great, as always. Really looking forward to the next book.

First book I'm listening to from Sarah Lin, it was good! I read the entire thing within two days which leads to my only complaint; I wish it was longer.

I almost didn't get the book because there were some negative reviews but I honestly don't know if those people read the same book I did. The setting, magic system, premise, characters, plot line, were all great.

Really inventive magic system and world building which is my jam! The characters have a deep culture shock built into their relationships which drives tension in a great way.

Good narrator, incredibly boring story full of technobabble. I tried to listen several times but I just couldn't get through more than a few chapters, even with a good performance by Baldtree.
The description of the book on the store page does a good job selling it but the actual story isn't nearly as good as its premise makes it sound. It's boring, and I can listen to litRPG rattle off status screens and numbers so that's saying something. Makes me sad to see wasted potential and my wasted credit.
