great addition to the series

another great book. I have to say crossbreed series is my favorite, I enjoy each book immensely and this one is no exception. Was nice to learn more about other characters and their stories, just sad is over and now have to wait for the next one.
Love Dannika Dark!

Different but still great

This book was different than the other books in the series and I loved it. Relationships arent always about the physical and this relationship between Nico and Gem is just great. Im excited to read how their bond strengthens. I was kind of bummed with how short it is. I would have liked to see their relationship stretch out a bit farther. Perhaps him helping her with her fear of swimming and her showing him more things. Im excited to see where this goes.

Leaves you wanting more!

Dannika does it again! She brings the readers along the journey of the characters and leaves them wanting more!

SPELLBOUND begins where we left off in the previous book MOONSTRUCK. Nikko is a sort of sleep like state and Gem continues to search for a way to awaken him.

As we’ve come to expect from Dannika’s books, the banter between characters is fantastic and the moments of humor that is weaved throughout the story not only makes the reader smile but makes you fall in love even more with the characters and the stories!

Narrator Nicole Poole continues to knock it out of the park with her stellar performance!! She is truly one gifted and talented narrator!

Overall, fans of the series will enjoy getting to know better two of their favorite characters, who up til now have been rather mysterious. Now we must patiently wait for the release of the next book!

Gem and Niko? Hmmm?

Just when you think that Dannika Dark can not surprise you anymore with this series comes another book that contiues to leave you breathless. We were left holding our breaths at the end of the last book, Moonstruck with the fate of Niko after Gem in an act of desperation to save Niko unleashed a spell that left him and those that share the same creator in a sleep stasis. Gem has no idea what or how she did what she did but she knows that Niko's life depends upon her being able to undo it. With time not being her friend she is frantic to find the reversal and save Niko. Spoiler Alert. Secrets of Gem and Niko's pasts are revealed in such a warm and touching fashion that you can't help but feel for the two after seeing the bad hands that fate had dealt them both. Thank goodness for Victor who recognized the strength and pain in these two of them and gave them both a chance to redeem themselves and make amends for the mistakes that they had made. You can't help but wonder if this cruel twist of fate is a stumbling block in the way of a new beginning for the two of them. As always Nicole Poole's narration is on point. As an audible listener, I do not think that I would be able to continue listening to this series if she wasn't the narrator.

Uneventful

was not too thrilled with the latest installment, lacked any kind of excitement, seemed to be just a bridge book to tie up loose ends.

Short with a cliff hanger

Very short and anti climactic. However we were given more character background. Not worth the money.

I want to have a full book

I really think any book under 7 hours should be like a half a credit.

Disappointed

Story way too short. And I had to spend a credit to listen to it. (Felt I got short-changed) I would not classify this as a novel. Was somewhat predictable. It did, however, pull the storyline from the last book together. Not as suspenseful nor as much action as all other books in this series. Very little crossbreed humor as others have exhibited and only a touch of passion. I love your books but this one I wish I had not spent the time in listening. Was disappointed!! This content should have been added to the last book. It could have been done in less than half the time . Please, Dannika Dark, continue this crossbreed series. Bring back to us more crossbreed adventures as you have shared with us in the past.

I was disappointed

I love Dannika Dark’s work, but I have to say, I found this one whiny and boring. I missed the action and strength of Raven and Christian. Gem was ok, but I feel she didn’t need an entire book to herself. This could have been a part of another book instead of stretching it out into a whole book. I felt like it was a lot of unnecessary filler.
As always Nicole Poole was flawless. She pushed my rating from 2 to 3 stars. She is like an entire cast recording in one person. It’s amazing how talented she is.
I would look to see if your public library has this book. I didn’t feel it was worth the credit, however I will definitely buy the next book in the series based on how much I usually love Dark’s work.
Happy listening!

Gem isn't as exciting as Raven

Spellbound picks up the next day after the events of book 8. This one focuses on Gem and the aftermath of her acts in previous books.

Eventually you get some scenes with the whole crew. So if you were missing the Irish Vampire, then dont worry.

I didn't find Gem as appealing as I thought I would. She definitely isnt as entertaining as Raven. Though I guess it's a good idea to slow the pace every few books so things can level out.

To me Gem came across as highly intelligent but socially immature. She and Niko are non-sexual people. It is not something I understand completely but I assume there are folks out there who might relate.

I was really excited to see Gem and Niko bound, but it ended up feeling awkward to me.

When Gem finds a way to communicate with Niko they go from zero to hundred. Gem says, "We have a marvelous relationship"... but they literally just became friends two minutes ago 🤣

Niko says, "Why is being my friend so important to you?" ... Umm Really Dude? Who says that?

Like I said, for two people don't like affection, sex, or serious relationships... they sure do act like they are trying to find a soul mate. There story just didnt do it for me.

Hopefully Blue and Vicktor will bring some real heat when we make it to them.

Nicole Poole does great with the audio version. I'm am all there for her Vicktor and Christen.

3 Stars 🌟🌟🌟- Good Book. I like the overall concept and it was delivered well. Most common ranking for a book I enjoyed and look forward to the next.

Not what I was hoping for...

This was not a romance story... I was looking forward to a lot more than what the author gave. Overall it was disappointing.
