Publisher's Summary
Exclusively on Audible, hilarious history for ages eight and up.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it: Listen to the hilarious-but-true adventures of the world’s most amazing spies, document their actions, and most importantly: Do not let the enemy see you laugh.
Here are the dossiers:
- Hercules Mulligan: Sure he sings about horses and corsets in a certain musical, but in real life he spied under the noses of the British for the entirety of the Revolutionary War - even when they were convinced he was a spy.
- Josephine Baker used her fame as a singer and dancer to smuggle hundreds of documents past the Nazis and helped numerous Jewish refugees escape Europe.
- Elizabeth Van Lew operated the largest spy ring for the Union forces - right in the heart of the Confederate capital.
- The Chevalier d’Eon: This 18th-century French diplomat, soldier, and spy became an international celebrity when she announced that she was a woman who had been forced to masquerade as a man - or was the other way around?
Spies! has it all: secret turnips, infiltrating pigeons, encrypted clothing, milk messages, prison breaks, snooping kitties, grave robbing, hanging monkeys, bumbling Brits, and even original songs.
So grab your miniature cameras and memorize your maps, Spies!: Sneaks, Snoops, and Saboteurs Who Shaped the World will steal its way to your funny bone.

I Loved it
Really funny, not dark or scary or sad at all! I recommend it for the ages 7-13. It’s a rather short book but worth the credit. FYI: if you are asking Alexa to turn it on, you must say “ Alexa play Spies, Sneaks, Snoops, and Saboteurs Who Shaped The World on Audible”. Just remember it as SSSSWSTW or write in on a sticky note.

Cute Idea
Well written and performed. Not a WOKE agenda, rather a well researched and enjoyable review of history. Highly recommend.

Informative and funny
The storyline and script are too funny. Love that it is educational with a twist. If you don’t get the jokes, go read some history books.

Take your Spies! with Sarcasm
Listen with attention. It is easy with the great voice actors involved in this book. I was a history teacher, so I love a hearing my stories seeped in accurate history, presented in teen age vernacular. My students would love this.

Another fabulously fun book by Scott McCormick
Another fabulously fun and factual book in the series. This time we learn about effective spies in this audio romp. You can't help but want to listen. Mr. McCormick uses humor to engage the young generation and teach them history. Looking forward to Scott McCormick's next book.

I love the Rivals Series!
I have all four books in my library. This one is a great addition. I love the humor and performances that are presented. My kids, who are now in high school also love these books and ask me to play them all the time. They are a great way to learn the history that they refuse to teach you in class.

Education as Entertainment
Can’t begin to tell y’all how much the whole family has been enjoying this series! The performance and information has equally been enjoyed and my family ranges from 6yrs old to 51yrs. Rivals 1&2, and Pirates are also books not to be missed. Well done Audible and Co.!

Entertaining!
It was more playful, comedic, and musical than I expected for some serious topics, but turned out to be quite enjoyable and educational! I definitely recommend it. It's a pretty quick listen too. Finished all at once.

Comical! Fun! And yet, the feels
It's by no means dark or sad, and focuses on the whimsical and comical performances to tell a story, but the underlying importance and sacrifice by each of the historical figures covered cannot help but make you feel like you have not done enough to appreciate the life that fought for and built up for you.
