Publisher's Summary

All Pyper Rayne - medium and coffee shop owner - wanted was the perfect vintage dress. What she got was a dead shop owner and a sexy ghost who's suddenly everywhere - at her shop, in her car, and even lounging in her bedroom. But he's not just any ghost. He's a witch and able to appear in solid form...sometimes. If only he'd stop disappearing on her.

And Pyper needs his help. When she becomes target numero uno and the prime suspect in the shop owner's death, it appears her ghost holds the key to solving the murder. In between stolen kisses, Pyper will need to get to the bottom of all of his secrets if she wants to stay alive and out of jail...and maybe finally get that date he keeps promising her.

Ghostly Murder Mystery yet Fun!

I'd forgotten how much fun Deanna Chase's books were. This one is a Murder Mystery that involves, ghosts, witches, demon hunters and many more characters. The atmosphere in New Orleans is just the place for this adventure. While there is romance it isn't steamy sex; which in my opinion makes it all the better. It's all about the plot, characters and adventure with a little romance thrown in. So don't expect half the book to be a detailed sex romp...just isn't happening. Instead, look forward to the adventures of Pyper Rayne and her sexy ghostly friend Julius. Wish, like I did, that they find a way to get together.

Ida Mae (another ghost) keeps things hopping in Pyper's bakery by mischievously changing the menu and decorating the sweets in some sexually suggestive ways. Great fun to be had all through this book.

My boyfriend is a ghost

This was a cute, funny story. I did not realize it was spin off from another series. However, i had not problem following the story. I love the characters. The narration was great. I do look forward to more in this series and the one it spin off from. IIt has ghost, witches good and bad, empaths and all kinds of stuff. Murders being done so a someone can extend there life for about 90 years. Pyper and Jade and the ghost Julius and other friends have to work to find he witch who has killed two and looking to make pyper the 3rd victim to compete their ritual. With the bad witch and the police thinking Pyper is the murderer she has to rely on herself and her friends to solve murders. Just when you think you got him/her things can change and go another way.

Cute. Standard fare

Another fun little paranormal. Nothing special, but a nice few hours of story. If you like these it's worth a listen.

Love the story but...

I liked the storyline and think it will end up being even better as it develops. I have been spoiled by having listened to some amazing narrators. I did not get into the flow of the book or get as involved as I would have liked. There is much more to narrating well beyond reading well. You need to hear the excitement, the fear, the joy and the anger to be drawn in.

Great Story!

This is the first book in the Pyper Rayne series and it's terrific! The narrator has done a great job bringing the characters and story to life. I'm looking forward to listening to the other books in this series.

I was provided a copy of this audiobook by the author, I have voluntarily submitted my review.

Nope

I couldn't finish this book. It made no sense at all. A group of characters together and loose storyline best describes this book.

GOOD START TO NEW SERIES

Interesting plot with a ghost and a psychic. Good storyline with some previous characters involved. Intrigues and magics helped make the book exciting though there were some scenes that were irritating. The heroine jumped to conclusions without more thought against the hero which might I find rather annoying at times. Otherwise quite good. Well written and well narrated/performed by Gabra Zackman.

A Good Read

I enjoyed the story, but I felt I had missed a back story about the lead character. Looking forward to the next story.

Frustrating Main Character

This book could have been pretty good. Everything about this book was good except the author took the easy way out instead of putting some extra time into the main character. There were such stupid parts making the main character look and act like a brainless idiot. I found myself asking several times, why was this even put in the story because it was so frustrating that someone could jump to such idiotic conclusions in some cases and then be brainless in other situations. I will not get any other books in this series. I know that I could just return the book but I felt it was important to warn others and hopefully reach the author and help her look for more complex ways to write in order to make her characters more relatable.
