Publisher's Summary

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star and New York Times best-selling author Teresa Giudice opens up about her tumultuous past year in her emotional new memoir, Standing Strong.

In her second memoir, Teresa chronicles her life since her release from prison and what it's been like to weather difficult times as a single mother. Though she recounts the happy memories she has experienced over the past year, she also touches upon some of the darkest times of her life, including her parents' hospitalizations for severe medical issues in late 2016, which led to the tragic passing of her mother in March of 2017. With unparalleled honesty and courage, Teresa opens up in Standing Strong in ways she never has before, showing her fans what it truly means to be a survivor.

Great Story from a Strong Woman

As a fan of the show it was interesting to listen to this book and learn what was either happening behind the scenes of a storyline or what her perspective was. I gave 3* for performance which wasn't a Teresa issue, it was an audio mix issue...the volume appeared inconsistent and words appeared edited in certain places.

She Reminds Me of a Bigger Milania

I like Teresa and I can't stand Teresa. I liked her last book and I enjoyed this book. The thing that I noticed most about this book is that in the beginning she seemed so contrite and humble. Definitely upset about the situation that she found herself in and squarely putting the blame on Joe. She is working hard and doing her best to recify things and working hard to make sure that her daughters have everything that they need. Then there was the rest of the book.

The death of her mother was so devastating that I felt so bad for her and her father and her brother. She went into great depth about what happened and how it happened, what she and Joey did, where they were, what they felt. It was so sad and heartbreaking.

But then we have the other Teresa who is talking about her 'glam squad' and the designer dresses and her expensive shoes and bags. And she is still talking about how hard it is to make ends meet. That was a bit off putting since there are so many women in the same situation but they do not live in a 10,000 sq ft house on 4 acres or have these designer clothes. Why is she complaining when she is choosing to live in such a manner. She is complaining about needing a better security system even though her house is 'a fortress'. She mentions over and over that she is famous and on tv. We know! We know!

Yes, she did go through a horrible time in prison. She did her time, she made amends and she is mad at Joe and she deserves to be and she should be. But there are so many people out there who are living in such dire circumstances and it made me feel like she is complaining about things that she should be grateful to have. This is the Teresa that I cannot stand.

All in all. I like Teresa. I continue to watch RHONJ and I continue to yell at my tv when one of them acts crazy. My hat is off to her for her four amazing children. She did that well and she did it right. She really is a strong woman and I cannot help but hope that she kicks Joe to the curb. She deserves better.

Quick summary

This book is redundant to the point it makes you want to scream. I can sum it up in a few quick sentences.
1. I'm mad at Joe. He did me wrong. This you will hear at least 500 times.
2. I'm a single mother, and I'm spool good at it. Nobody does it better.
3. I love my parents to distraction. Yeah, that we got the first 500 times.
4. I love my girls, they can do no wrong. Hmm please take a look backwards at that sassy, bad mouthed girl, Melanie and get back to us.
5. Yoga, yoga, yoga, yoga, yoga, yoga.
6 I can hold a grudge longer and better than anyone (que Jacqueline)
7. Food, food, food, food, food. Woman can remember exactly what she ate on any given date.
8. It's all Joe's fault I'm in this situation. Not one thing is my fault. I took no ownership to even glance at what I signed.
9. Damn! I'm so great it's unbelievable.

There you have it. That's the book

Unfortunately worse than the first one

I like Teresa but listening to her read is torture. I was hoping that she would have improved after the first book but sadly no. Additionally, I feel like this book was all over the place and a bit discombobulated.

Great story, extremely honest and heartfelt.

This is the second book of Teresa Giudice that I read. I enjoyed ‘Turning the Tables’ but not as much as I enjoyed this book. I felt like Teresa and I were having a one on one honest and deep conversation as if we were old friends. My heart feels for her as she deals with love, lies, loss, and fame all like a lady. I couldn’t stop listening and I cried several times throughout the book. The only suggestion I would make is that it was often very monotoned and there was rarely any emotion behind the words. It was like she was reading the side of a cereal box. However, it was a great book. She made me call my own Mother to tell her how much I love her after I was done with the book.

The struggle was real…..

Overall it was okay, but the narration was definitely a struggle. Being bi-lingual is definitely an asset, listening to Tre struggle with words and hearing the edits between frames was beyond a WOW FACTOR!!!

Snooze fest

I have watched RHONJ, read her first book which was interesting but this is literally the dullest book ever. It doesn't address much of the juicy stuff in her life and is like reading a diary about mundane day to day stuff. It went on and on about nothing. Kinda self absorbed to believe people would be so interested in her life that they would enjoy this.

Real Angry Housewife

You could hear the anger in her voice and in her words. This anger is an honest response to what she's been through. However, I found the entire book to be angry, at her husband, her friends, fans, and people in general. I think she should have waited until those feelings were resolved before writing this. How can she claim to be a Christian but not be willing to forgive. Spend a little more time with God, Teresa, I think youve missed his message.
