If you are going to listen to an audio book before or after the legacy of the force this is it. I feel that they really do a great job building the characters that you hear about in the future and expand upon those that are already established.

Like it’s really bad sometimes like super cringy but whatever otherwise great book with great story, well told for the most part. I was expecting or I guess hoping for more thrawn then we get, without spoiling anything.

look, you'd struggle to find a bigger Marc Thompson fanboy than myself, but dude, what happened? reusing the wrong voices for characters, or making up new, worse voices for established characters (including "Thrawn" himself -- how is nobody noticing the different voice?). this is like giving Vader imposter a high pitched voice and everyone being fooled.

STORY
if you're hoping for a tactical, and clever story like the Thrawn series, look elsewhere. if you're hoping for the thrill of political decisions and logistics debates, this series is for you.

my only hope is that all this setup is building to something truly spectacular in book 2, but I'm doubtful.
