Zero is just one of 20,000 people aboard a spaceship bound for a new planet set to be colonized. The journey is over a century long but luckily, everyone is in stasis, so they’ll be safe and sound asleep during the trip. Everyone that is, except for Zero, whose pod has malfunctioned, waking him up a hundred years early. His initial excitement in roaming the ship alone quickly turns to a heart-stopping interstellar adventure when a family of space pirates show up, trying to hijack the ship and take the colonizers hostage.

Story
The colonists from the Pathfinder have arrived on Kaguya, a planet with low gravity but a very dense atmosphere. It’s fun to jump around, but the air makes you loopy - and worse than that, the heavy atmosphere means that wind storms, although rare, are absolutely devastating. Zero and Nyx help to get everything locked down before the first big storm, but they stumble onto a group of thieves who have stolen some mining equipment. Before the kids have a chance to get away and tell anyone, the storm hits and the massive winds carry them far away.

Story
Moving from the big city to the picturesque town of Sunnypoint seems perfect for Dillon and her mom. But the new house - a big, old Victorian - creeps Dillon out, especially the old trunk in the attic that seems to move by itself. As if that weren't bad enough, the tight-knit popular girls at her new school hate her instantly. Dillon finds solace with the quirky kids - Quinn, the film nerd, Birdie, the back-of-the-class wit, and Kumail, the history fanatic. Together they find a mysterious necklace in the trunk, and when Dillon wears it, all of her wishes seem to come true.

Publisher's Summary
The third installment in the Zero G series by Dan Wells.
Zero, Nyx, and the other Pathfinder colonists have adjusted to life on Kaguya. But Earth has built much faster starships-the Dreamcatcher arrives 10 years early, and the Stargazer arrives so early it actually got there before the Pathfinder did! Now the Stargazer is a lost shipwreck, and the race is on to find it, and who should show up looking for it but Nyx's dangerous family: Big Mama, Jim, and Kratt. Nyx and Zero will face kidnappers, pirates, shipwrecks, warlords, dragons, and maybe a new ally or two on their way to save the day once again.
Full cast of narrators includes Jonathan Davis, Houston Mahoney, Kathryn Grody, and Mark Sanderlin.

Enjoyable sci fi adventure
Good story line with a redemptive flair. Our past doesn’t have to define our future. Enjoyable characters. Geared more towards teens and younger audiences but I liked it as an adult.

Amazing and Entertaining series hope it continues
This is a great third book in this entertaining trilogy. Once I realized the first book was more geared towards younger audiences I was going to turn it off. But it quickly grabbed my attention and this third book is the same. In such a short time the world building is great and there are enough surprises that I am always left wanting more. The soundtrack is too notch as well.

Good But Elementary
This was a very fast read, which also led it to suffer from a lack of story and character development. I enjoyed what I heard, but it’s just written for a younger audience. I also wish the readers would have varied the voices of the characters a bit more.
This was good for a simple book, but it was just a little too simple for me.

What an absolutely delightful trilogy by Dan Wells!
The Zero G Chronicles by Dan Wells (Zero G, Dragon Planet, and Srargazer) may be characterized as a Young Adult (YA) series but as a 71-yeqr-old retired chemist, I was infatuated with the story, the vocal performances, and the unique explanations of the story-forwarders (Zero’s parents and the chief scientist from the Stargazer) to answer questions by the young 12-year-old Zero and 13-year-old Nyx.
The story line of colony ships from Earth venturing out on a 105-year journey to a new compatible Earth-like planet and the story forwarders laying out explanations of the totally non-Earth-type atmosphere, flora and fauna that the youngsters would encounter was very well told.
The ore-teen/teenager angst and desire to be listened to and be taken seriously in an adult world was written quite convincingly!
At the end of Stargazer, I was reluctant to bid the story goodbye.
I can only hope Dan Wells will continue the series within this new and unique universe!
