Forbes has done it again…

This book is yet another great entry from MR Forbes. I would call it a coming of age, intergalactic romp across space and sort of time, if you count worm holes that spit you out in the past. Looking forward to see what the ragtag band of space criminals gets up to next…

Good++

Ok I know there is good and bad reviews for that book. I have no horse in that race. Here my honest opinion. I like it. The story is well developed and the narrator did an ok job. I will buy the second book that in itself should help you make the decision to gave it a chance.

Really wanted to love it

spoilers- Characters seemed rather flat and uninteresting, story strongly stolen Last Starfighter, with twists and turns telegraphed instead of foreshadowed. Really reluctant to spend another credit to see if it gets any better in the sequels. Voice acting was acceptable but felt like there were only three characters throughout. most inconsistent was alter, who often dropped back to narrator voice, or the different personas would meld back to default alter after a few lines.
context- almost all my audible books are space opera - expeditionary force, bobiverse, interdependency, hail Mary, old man's war, and a dozen others. could find very little wrong with all of them. this just really didn't click, which makes me sad as I like other works by this author.
