Story
Mason Alexander thought all he wanted in life was something to call his own - something without the family name attached. He got that when he bought his bar in Blackcreek...but then a hard truth opens his eyes that he's been lied to his whole life, and he's tangled amid the family that loves him, a truth that haunts him, and torn between the life he wants for himself and the obligation he feels for his family.

Conor: It starts with a drunken text pic. The kind I would normally never send. Only, instead of it going to the flirty hotel bartender, it goes to some random stranger who actually responds. Wells: The first thing I notice about Conor Newell when he sits down in my high-rise conference room is how delightfully nervous he is. Then I see his tie. The same geeky tie that’s held hostage on my phone. The one that belongs to my anonymous late-night texter. And it changes everything.

Story
Most people called it a cult. But for 20 years, Josh and Caleb called it home. In Paradise, there is no television. No fast food. Just long hours of farmwork and prayer on a dusty Wyoming ranch and nights in a crowded bunkhouse. The boys of the Compound are kept far from the sinners' world. But Joshua doesn't need temptation to sin. His whole life he's wanted his best friend, Caleb. By day they work side by side. Only when Josh closes his eyes at night can they be together the way he craves. It can never be.

I’m a man with too many secrets, so the last thing I need is a new roommate with a sexy smile and blue eyes that see right through me. Eight years ago, Roderick left town after high school. We’re not friends. I owe him nothing. But back then, I let one of my secrets slip, and he’s the only one who noticed. Part of me knows I should run far, far away. Every bartender should follow one simple rule - don't go home with the customers. That’s been easy for me to stick to, until the night a cocky, confident, and sinfully charming hockey star walks into my bar. This sexy athlete is too hard to resist, especially when he makes it clear how much he wants the “sarcastic, witty, hot AF” guy behind the bar - also known as me. Still, I’m not keen on breaking my own rules since I know where that can lead - no place good.

Publisher's Summary
Wes Jensen just lost the sister who raised him, and gained custody of his niece. The last thing he needs to add to his full plate is dealing with Braden Roth, the one-night-stand who continues to try to push his way into Wes' life. He has a kid to raise now, and Wes isn't great at getting close anyway.
Braden has never had a woman or a man sneak out on him the morning after. From the start, Wes intrigues him, and Braden isn't one to deny himself something he wants. And he wants Wes. The more time he spends with Wes and the little girl who constantly keeps them on their toes, the more Braden realizes this isn't just about getting the guy who walked away.
As their lives intertwine more and more, Wes discovers Braden isn't as shallow as he thought. But after everything Wes lost in his life, he isn't sure he can risk his heart, and truly want Braden to stay - and if he did, would Wes' quiet life be enough for Braden?

Great story and pretty great performance
Loved this book and absolutely loved every character in this book. Loved Wesleys love for his niece. Even when he was feeling overwhelmed and didn't know what he was doing, he was so sweet with Jesse. Jesse is a cute, feisty little girl who added a little bit of humour to the story. I love that Brayden despite being what he thought was a one night stand is a good guy who offered to help Wesley babysit, feeling bad for the guy for losing his sister and being left with a kid and not a lot of other family to help him out and with this he grew closer to both Wes and Jesse. This book is so heartwarming. Even the extra characters couldn't be more perfect. Of course there are some ups and downs with Wes being afraid to let someone get close around Jesse but they were such a perfect balance that I was rooting for them and couldn't put this one down til the end. There's no cliffhanger and you'll be very happy in the end.
The narrator did a pretty great job. I have my favs so the voices for the male characters compared to what I'm use to might not have lived up to my high expectations but I think they portrayed the characters quite well and we're a good fit and this Narrator did great with portraying the little girls voice and the other women characters so I can see why he was a good pick for this

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫
I am a total sucker for single dad romance and that includes single uncles ;) Wes & Braden's story worked so perfectly for me. Wes has baggage and a niece, Brayden is the fun guy who never plans to settle down until Wes & Jessi grab hold of his heart and he can't resist. This story is sweet and sexy and did I say sweet!!! Loved it! This one left me we a very happy heart!
Luke Itzvic was great in this one too! I am becoming a big fan!
*Update* This is my favorite book of this series!

Loved the story and narration
Any additional comments?
I love it when a sophomore story in a series winds up even better than the first!
What can I say? This just did it for me. This was a great story, with great audio, and a terrific way to get my mind off a stressful situation.
I loved watching Wes grow up (metaphorically), deal with the loss of his sister, be needed by his niece, and seeing him fall in love with Braden.
*sighs* Braden. I just loved this fun-loving, free-spirited character. His attitude, his humor, his ability to get Wes to open up. I loved it all.
But mostly I loved the narration. Luke Itzvic brings the story to life with excellent character voices, steady pacing, wonderful emoting, and a clear sense of who these men are.
The story is fantastic with lots of heartwarming moments, plenty of passion, a dash of angst, and thankfully no melodrama, but the star once again is Itzvic's narration.
I loved the story and the narration, and can easily recommend picking up Stay along with the first story, Collide.

MY FAVORITE OF THE SERIES
Any additional comments?
I loved this book so much. It's so sweet and so hot that I have listened to it about five times since the first time. The narration was excellent and really brought a higher level of enjoyment. This book just made me smile straight through. I also cried and laughed out loud many times. I would recommend it seven days of the week and twice on Sunday. Great Listen 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Very Good Book in M/M Fiction
I rate books relative to other books in the genre. This wouldn't rate as well to me if it were in the Mystery section, but in gay romance, it compares very well. It is a very good "read" that held my attention and developed the characters to the point I felt I knew them. I also like the characters which makes a book more enjoyable to me. I even cried at one point, which is something I don't normally do. I'm a 70 year old hetero man for god's sake. Which makes my next comment a bit more understandable. A little less detail sex would be OK with me.

Meh....😞
this book was predictable, you have the grumpy guy who is really hurt and wants to be loved and then there's the swooning guy who wants to give the grumpy guy that love he is looking for and then there's the kid that brings them together. Nothing surprised me or stood out, so 2 out of 5 stars for the story.
the narrator gets a 4 out of 5 stars, only because the voices for the MC'S had little difference, for me at least but I think he did a great job for the other characters voices such as the little kid, even though the voice for her was little annoying at times I think he did great.
this book was on sale and that's the only reason I got it, but to pay full price for such a bland book...I don't think so, not even a credit is worth it.

Beautiful Continuation of the Black Creek Saga
I love that Braden and Wes were both introduced in Collide initially, where I loved them both individually.
Honestly, I wasn't so sure about them together. I felt so bad for Braden who was giving his all to Wes to prove he was the man for him and Wes was a consistent asshat. Which, at least he was willing to admit. But I was definitely glad to see that this didn't turn into a one sided love affair and Braden wasn't afraid to ask for Wes to fight for him. I think that really made all the difference in the ending of this book.
The addition of Jessie, also, really made this story for me. Without her Wes probably would have annoyed me too much to really enjoy it. She added just the right amount of humor, sweetness and yea, sorrow. I definitely hurt for the little girl who was working out the dawning reality that she'll never see her mother again. There were definitely a couple scenes that made my eyes sweat.
Unsurprisingly, Luke Itzvic did an awesome job with the narration. Definitely can't get enough of him. I'm glad to see that he's doing the whole series.
I read the first two books in about two days each and am now on to Pretend. Looking forward to more great work from Riley Hart. I definitely can't get enough!

Best of the series!
Where does Stay rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I've listened to so many audiobooks, I can't really say that it's my favorite but I really enjoyed this story.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Stay?
When Wes and Brayden finally told each other that they loved the other.
What does Luke Itzvic bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He voiced Wes and Brayden perfectly.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I listened to this in one day while on a long drive.
Any additional comments?
I would love to read more about Wes and Brayden.
