Publisher's Summary

The Vampire War is over. The United States is reeling. The Masquerade is fragmenting. The Apocalypse is here.

The long and bloody war with the vampires in the United States has finally ended, thanks to the efforts of the vampire Arbiter and ONSET Commander David White - and a nuclear explosion on American soil.

The final battle proves harder to conceal than hoped, however, and a series of high profile incidents end any chance of hiding the supernatural. Suddenly, the world is faced with the fact that it is both more wonderful and more terrible than humanity ever realized.

But as the US government struggles to adapt to this new reality, old enemies have set into motion plans that could render humanity’s struggles irrelevant. There are those beyond the Seal who were once gods...and they want their planet back!

Stewart and Porter kill it!

Listen up, i rarely write reviews, but im a huge audible sci-fi fantasy junkie. got completely hooked up on this series bc of im huge porter fan. any new author i encounter i proceed with extreme caution and will only choose a book after literally reading hundreds of reviews.

Stewart is killing it and I think book 4 of Onset just put him into a special category of must listen.

If you are a joe ledger fan or dresden fan this series is a must read!!!

Thank you Stewart for staying committed to the series and writing by far the best book yet. The entire time listening i was constantly thinking how amazing it would be to see as a movie or tv show.

I hope to see Onset Books on first page of sci-fi best sellers soon, bc this series deserves it!

Hell Yeah

My favorite onset book to date. One comment I would have is that I wished it spanned two books and drawed out the invasion a bit more.

Reluctant 2 stars

This book was much more interesting then the first three. That said I'm not willing to forgive the Mary Sue character of David because of what happened in this book. David struggled against the enemy in this book but those struggles didn't make a lot of sense given what happened in the previous books.

The ending was... almost cartoon-ish and anticlimactic.

One particularly annoying aspect of David's character is his Seer abilities. He's told at one point that his abilities will grow with age. Given what happens earlier in the book that means he'll eventually become an omnipotent character. Not even a moment is spent in him considering this or what the implications are. He's been so stoked with power that this revelation is just another check mark on his way to being a god.

I'd listen to Ray Porter read the phone book.

Ray Porter is amazing. The series was a good read, but do wish David’s team wasn’t constantly changing. I would have loved more time with one core group. The team reshuffle lost the connections with the characters and I found myself caring less and less with each book. Also I hated that Charles’ voice changed in this one for no good reason.

Absolutely fabulous series & readings

I am not going to lie, this whole series was nothing short of fabulous. From beginning to end it flowed so smoothly. And Ray Porter makes it sound so easy. Like he's been reading like this since he was three. The man deserves his accolades, as does Glynn Stewart for such a fine series.

Sorry to see the series end.

Nice wrap up to the onset series. Hopefully the author will create new adventures for them.

A really good fourth book in this series.

The story continues on and dove tails nicely with the first three books. I might add that one should start this series with the Novela "Murder By Magic". Then of course start the series and read them (listen) in order.
Ray Porter has a great range of voices and dialects. Few men can pull of a a woman's voice yet he does several distinct voices and does not confuse them. Same deal with the male voices and the various paranormal characters.
All of these stories could be stand alone, but should really be listened to in order. So five stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Love the series

Another winner from Glynn Stewart. Action packed. Good storyline. Engaging and hard to put down (so to speak).

Great modern sci-fi fantasy series!

First of the series and like the rest I really enjoyed it I won't spoiler but it's basically a cop being recruited by a secret government agency enforcing the law on supernatural beings (mages, vampires, werewolfs, daemons, etc). While battling his own powers who awakens.
