I listened to this series last year, and enjoyed it enough to give it 5 stars across the board, but didn’t feel compelled to write a written review. (It’s honestly not something I do often)
Well here I am 6 months later and before reading Kennedy Ryan’s new book I decided to do a relisten of Grip…holy shit balls! This series is amazing! It has everything I ever wanted in a love story, including laugh out loud, cry into my clean laundry and steam so hot it scalds! I will happily reread/relisten to Grip and Bristol’s story for the rest of my days! ❤️

Ok. Buckle up.
This is not your usual romance. Not your usual smut.
This is extremely well written with ALL of the emotions evoked.
It gives incredible love, laughter, rage, sadness, and GREAT sex.

The inclusion of true art/music/poetry and a wonderful lens on the active racism and ways we (esp us white ppl) can help overcome, was riveting.

There were moments in book 2 that I thought I’d abandon. The frustration with them (her) not being honest and him with someone else + the way his family treated her upset me enough to want to quit… but I couldn’t get their story out of my mind.

The obsession with anal on his end was a little strange imo, but this is truly a wild love story.
So, so glad there was a HEA… it didn’t look great at times!

Well worth the time investment. I’d listen to a follow up of their love story for sure!

I love hearing from all sides and how different people experience different events in life. I would highly recommend this book it was absolutely worth my time and I have learned so much thanks to it.

This is my all time favorite book. The audio is amazing. It is like poetry such and amazing love story.

What a story I listened to it from prequel to end at times it was funny at times it was maddening at times it was sad and at times it literally broke my heart. Highly recommend it, will not be able to stop listening I promise. Performances were done with the utmost feeling and care. Loved both narrators.

This is my favorite one of the series. It's romantic and sweet and heartbreaking. I listened to the series on Audible and was tearing up at one point with this one. This is a beautiful love story.

Please don't come for me, but I should've dnf'd this. The first half was just copy and past chapter after chapter. Then there was a time jump and all of the "villains" went away. The second half definitely broke my heart and I finally felt like the plot was progressing. I do like Bristol and Grip, and I think their chemistry is off the charts, but I felt like every chapter was just another problem that was thrown at them to overcome.

I do love Kennedy Ryan's writing and will read more by her, this story just didn't do it for me.
