Publisher's Summary

Celebrated actor, personality, and all-around nerd, Wil Wheaton updates his memoir of collected blog posts with all new material and annotations as he reexamines one of the most interesting lives in Hollywood and fandom--and now for the first time in audio, narrated by Wil himself, with an introduction written and read by Neil Gaiman!

From starring in Stand by Me to playing Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation to playing himself, in his second (third?) iconic role of Evil Wil Wheaton in The Big Bang Theory, to becoming a social media supernova, Wil Wheaton has charted a career course unlike anyone else, and has emerged as one of the most popular and well respected names in science fiction, fantasy and pop culture.

Back in 2001, Wil began blogging on wilwheaton.net. Believing himself to have fallen victim to the curse of the child actor, Wil felt relegated to the convention circuit, and didn’t expect many would want to read about his random experiences and personal philosophies.

Yet, much to his surprise, people were reading. He still blogs, and now has an enormous following on social media with well over 3 million followers.

In Still Just a Geek, Wil revisits his 2004 collection of blog posts, Just a Geek, filled with insightful and often laugh-out-loud annotated comments, additional later writings, and all new material written for this publication. The result is an incredibly raw and honest memoir, in which Wil opens up about his life, about falling in love, about coming to grips with his past work, choices, and family, and finding fulfillment in the new phases of his career. From his times on the Enterprise to his struggles with depression to his starting a family and finding his passion--writing--Wil Wheaton is someone whose life is both a cautionary tale and a story of finding one’s true purpose that should resonate with fans and aspiring artists alike.

Amazing layered time capsule

One of the kindest people on the planet looks back and talks to his younger self again about the decisions and events that shaped the incredible journey he has taken . I look forward to the possibility of a future perspective in a decade or so!

A must listen for humans

I just finished listening to Still Just a Geek and felt seen, heard, and spoken to by immersing myself in this story. It was joyful, sad, funny, and cool...and that word can never be used enough. (Winking to Wil Wheaton is less effective in text). Thoroughly enjoyed and oddly consensually touched by this fantastic listen.

Amazing

I love this book. Wil does an amazing job at both writing and performing. I felt heard and understood during parts of this book. From his struggle with depression and anxiety to the struggle with his wife's medical complications. The growth he shows from his first book to this makes you understand that people do change for the better. We are not all perfect at any point, just always working towards better. Thank you Wil for sharing this with me.

Great book, You might want to skip a chapter..

There's a chapter that you might want to skip involving Wil's first movie role after Stand by Me. The abuse on 'The Rome Trip' as I'll call it, to say is triggering is an understatement, like the US civil war is a little domestic problem. Wow.. WTF.. I'd like to remove the memory of listening to that..

much love to Wil and his Sis..

Heartfelt, funny, human

This is one of those books that you just don't want to end. I simply loved every moment of this book, even the very difficult, heartwrenching passages. I have such respect and admiration for Wil Wheaton.

Just The Best!

This is now my #1 favorite memoir. It is the self-help book I didn't know I needed. It is full of insight and good advice. And it has made me an even bigger fan of Wil Wheaton than I was before. And that's saying something because I have always been a huge fan of Wil Wheaton's. This audiobook is 10/10, will definitely recommend to anyone in need of healing.
