Publisher's Summary

Stop Picking on Me is the definitive guide on excoriation (skin picking) disorder (SPD).

How to make peace with your critical self and how to change your lifestyle to finally heal the phenomenon of nervous, obsessive, compulsive, and habitual skin picking.

This is the most comprehensive lifesaving book ever written on the topic. You will gain overwhelming understanding, answers, courage, and hope. Learn about what you do and why you do it. Then learn how to eradicate breakouts, and stop your compulsion to pick.

Mary-Margaret "anand sahaja" Stratton is the founding mother healer of excoriation disorder. She is an Essene minister, certified raw food nutritionist, instructional designer, and veteran of twelve step philosophy. Long before the DSM identified the condition, anand wrote a groundbreaking book and shared it for free online, along with creating the forum StopPickingOnYou. Now, years later, she shares her approach to find radical recovery that has kept her 100 percent pick-free through holistic means: mindful techniques, behavior modification, and especially natural nutrition - a whole foods diet. She is living proof that changing your life can affect your brain chemistry and make you happier and less likely to succumb to OCD behaviors.

Heartfelt and real!

This review is a big step for me and I have Maggie’s book to thank for that! My shame lessens each day and I want to share my story to inspire other because this book was so inspirational and educational for me.
There is very little in the way of resources for dermatillomania...it’s a gripping condition that needs more attention and compassion.
She teaches ways to cope with every aspect of SPD. After listening here I bought the hard copy to highlight/ make notes in and the workbook which is very helpful...now I am listening to this again to reinforce the information.
I’ve found new ways of thinking, much healthier way of eating and productive ways of biding my time thanks to her wisdom. I find awareness is key...as long as I stay aware of my triggers and relapses I’m doing better each day!
This took a lot of courage and hard work for her to write, I can’t express how much that means to me!
I’m so grateful for this book!
Now we just need a short reference book for families who love someone with SPD. My poor Mum doesn’t fully understand that I can’t just stop, the struggle is very real. She is loving, kind, compassionate and accepts me no matter what but it hurts her almost as much as it does me.
If Maggie could put into words a way for them to grasp it and teach them more about the condition that would be great! Maybe a a family group study type thing where we commit to an interactive session with guided discussions and activities.
I hope to be a part of this crusade in the near future, helping as many people as possible overcome SPD!
Thanks again and big hugs from Canada!!!
