Publisher's Summary

His street name was Daylight. But he was a nightmare. On the streets of New York, darkness and violence reigned. Dimas "Daylight" Salaberrios began selling drugs when he was 11 years old, and by 16 he had served his first stint at the notorious Rikers Island prison. Dimas saw only one way to survive: by reigning over the streets. He would be the richest, most powerful ruler in the hood...or die trying.

Street God is the true story of one man's dangerous journey through the underworld of crime, drugs, and almost certain death. It was an encounter with the real God that saved his life - and then made it even more dangerous. Because that God sent Dimas back down the darkest streets he'd ever known - with other lives depending on it. And Dimas had to ask the question: How far am I prepared to go?

A dramatic, compelling memoir full of twists and turns, Street God delves deep into a world from which few ever emerge - and shows how a single spark of light can illuminate even the darkest existence.

A Godly Story - Powerful, Moving and Gritty

As a reader, the key concept I took from Street God, is the very real, human and powerful God is as a leader in our lives when the individual opens to the Spirit. Street God is fiercely honest sharing a real life story of a man, Dimas Salaberrios, who was transformed by the Word of God. Salaberrios is transparent introducing the reader to lives that are far from beautiful stained glass art in suburban churches. Gritty, raw and revealing, Street God is an amazing read that is only riveting detailing the power of God and the transformation of a man in God's image. It's utterly amazing where this text takes you. The narrator is perfect for the context and spirit of the story adding to Salaberrios' story in an artistic way. This book is simplistic in it's narrative allowing the reader to relax, listen and engage the material without having to ponder theological stance; this allows for the reader to simply be in awe and enjoy appealing to all Christians regardless of denomination! I highly recommend this read and applaud Salaberrios for his change of heart, dedication to God and willingness to share his story to empower and inspire others.
