Story
An achingly funny story from the author of the best-selling You Had Me at Hello. When Edie is caught in a compromising position at her colleagues' wedding, all the blame falls on her - turns out that personal popularity in the office is not that different from your school days. Shamed online and ostracised by everyone she knows, Edie's forced to take an extended sabbatical - ghostwriting an autobiography for hot new acting talent, Elliot Owen. Easy, right? Wrong.

Story
Minnie Cooper knows two things with certainty: that her New Year's birthday is unlucky, and that it's all because of Quinn Hamilton, a man she's never met. Their mothers gave birth to them at the same hospital just after midnight on New Year's Day, but Quinn was given the cash prize for being the first baby born in London in 1990 - and the name Minnie was meant to have, as well. With luck like that, it's no wonder each of her birthdays has been more of a disaster than the one before.

Lighthearted fun
This is a great book for a lighthearted read. A bit predictable but it’s all good. I’m not in it for the twists and turns haha.

New favorite author
It’s hard to find a romantic comedy that makes you laugh and isn’t full of raunchy sex scenes. This book made me laugh so hard. I’ve recently listen to a few other books by Portia and I think she is my new favorite. They are clever, slightly predictable, and they are fun.

Favorite narrator of all time!
Loved this book - laughed out loud and didn’t predict plot early on as sometimes happens with rom com books. The writing is solid gold! Also, I am a crazy fan of narrator Karen Cass. She’s so fab!!

Light and Enjoyable
This story is a great listen. I love listening to Portia Macintosh’s books while I am working. The narrator has a great voice. The stories are the perfect length. I do find myself wanting the story to continue but that is only because I enjoy the characters.

sweet, funny and surprising!
I usually read quite a few predictable stories and I thought this would be the same. It was and it wasn't. I didn't expect a few twists and turns and I liked that it didn't follow the typical ROM com storyline. I also loved Sadie'a family. i would love to be there and experience Christmas in that town. it just sounded like perfection.

ending was too abrupt
It was cute enough. I think they could of left out the weird conflict. Too forced.
The story had potential it just did not unfold easily or cleanly for me.

A real feel good book
This was a very interesting and funny book. I think that's why I have really enjoyed all of the Portia Macintosh books. The characters are always very interesting and funny. I've always enjoyed humor in any of the books I've read. Karen Cass does a wonderful job on the narration.
