Sunward is a rather curious mixture of the large and dramatic together with the intimate and familial. On the whole it works, without quite fitting any expectations.

There's a lot that isn't fully developed, both in the characters and world, but not to the detriment of the story.

Overall the story compresses the scales of the world-spanning and the personal in a way that is unusual but surprisingly successful. Well worth the listen.
