Publisher's Summary

The first shots of war have been fired, now it's a race against time to stop a headlong rush before someone fires the last shots.

The alien probe that created dozens of superhuman weapons and unleashed them on Houston has a new testing site, the city of Hong Kong, and Alexander Hale has been asked to intervene. With no idea who, or how, the experiments on people are being done he slips into the city to try and find out what ever he can, but beyond the skyline of Hong Kong trouble is brewing.

With China and the USA rushing headlong toward a nuclear exchange, there may only be hours to save the world from this countdown to apocalypse.

It'll take a superhuman effort.

Good thing he has that going for him, because nothing else seems to be.

What a captivating book!

Couldn't stop listening, these books should be made into a movie!! And Ken is a fantastic reader, he has an incredible grasp of foreign accents! I really felt like I was listening to a Chinese man speaking English. And the ability to switch through all those accents was great, can't wait for book 3!!

Marginally better than book one in the series.

I had to wait for payoffs that I'd figured out after a few moments of a fight. I even set the read speed to 1.7 to keep my interest up. Not to say the story wasn't well written, just not well paced nor characterised.

OMG... K.T. Collins mouth noises!!

I'm several hours into the book and it's not quite as action packed as the first, but still a solid performer and I expect things will pickup shortly.

However, I don't know if I'll be able to finish the book due to K.T. Collins' wet sloppy mouth noises (lip smacking, swallowing, etc.) several times per minute. it's driving me insane. The bodily sounds are so pronounced that it's worse than someone chewing with their mouth open. Dont get me wrong, I've always enjoyed Collins' narration, but either he was using subpar recording equipment, rushing the narration, or the editor needs to be fired.

if these kinds of noises will distract you, it may he worth skipping this one. Yes, its really that bad...

meh

A lot introspection and just looking around at the little details of the world. It's great some times but it get old if done to much.

Super-Reading or Super-Listening!

Great Listen,
cant wait for the 3rd book!
I hope the main Character "Cap" gets a break for some down time before the continuing crisis requires his attention.
