Story
Maddison James is about to discover some truths about the world. Firstly...supernaturals exist. WTF? Secondly...she is one, even though no one seems to know exactly what kind. Double WTF. Thirdly...she’s about to go back to school. Well, things just got a little more interesting. The Supernatural Academy is where shifters, vampires, magic users, and fey are educated. Where they are taught about their abilities, and how to function in the human world. Maddison already has the human part down, but this supernatural thing is an entirely new dangerous game.

Her father is the alpha of their wolf pack, she lives in Stratford - a protected supernatural prison town - and her best friends, the Compass quads, are the strongest dudes of the four races: shifter, vampire, fey, and magic user. Yep, life is pretty much exactly how she wants it. Until the fateful day, just after her 22nd birthday, when the mother who abandoned her returns to the pack, bearing secrets that change everything. The biggest secret of all: Jessa is dragon-marked, a designation that places her in grave danger.

They're waiting for you. Those four words should have been a warning. They should have filled Violet with dread. But she was so focused on Rafe's disappearance, she forgot. The resistance was supposed to be fighting for a better world. A group of freedom fighters formed during the Monarch War, pushing back against laws that would see everyone enslaved. For a while there, they gave hope. But with power comes corruption. The Society has been quietly amassing the strength and backing to become a real threat, and not everyone wants to use that power for good.

Publisher's Summary
Year two at the Academy! The year of purple.
Maddison James learned a lot about life last year. Only important stuff, of course. Like how to breathe under water, how to turn an arrow into a weapon, and how to fall in love.
Asher Locke. The one who stole her heart. The one who showed her the truth of her past and...hopefully her future.
Now, it's just time for them to live happily ever after.
Only the gods have different plans. And with Atlantis rising, Maddi isn't sure she'll survive long enough to even finish her second year, let alone have any sort of future.
Even worse, the sadistic Atlantean gods want to break her before they kill her. But Maddi has been underestimated before, and she has hidden strengths they'll never see coming.
Year of purple...bring it on.
This is book two in the Supernatural Academy series. Full-length at 105k words.

Still love how this story is going but all the explicit scenes really don't add to it.

Good but not as good as the first book.
I understand grief but I feel like a lot of the book was spend on whining and waiting. It pick up pace like a third way through but really took a effort for me to get the through the whiny parts. So far feel like the first book was a lot better.

Good story but wished for more
The story was good but I was hoping to get just a tad bit of action from the MC. I got the romance, lost love, but just that wish for the MC to use her skills for something. She is training her combat and magic skills but they are not being used for anything in the story except two occasions but that just seemed like she was just venting. She seems helpless at every major occasion even though she is top of her class. I will still commit to the final book in the trilogy.
