Publisher's Summary

Giselle thinks she has the perfect life. Her fine and sexy husband, Giovanni, is obsessed with his perfect wife and gives her whatever her heart desires. Giselle thinks her husband can do no wrong. What she doesn’t know is that his lucrative adult film company is not as legit as it seems, and Giovanni’s seedy dealings put his precious wife in danger.

Giselle is kidnapped by a vicious drug dealer named Bryce, who is hell-bent on revenge after his sister comes up missing and he believes Giovanni is responsible. Bryce takes the thing he knows Giovanni treasures most. He plans to torture Giselle, but instead he finds himself falling in love with her. He reveals the truth about Giovanni, and the news pushes her right into Bryce’s arms.

Giovanni wages a war against Bryce and anyone close to him, leaving several dead bodies in his wake. Now that he has his wife back, Giovanni thinks things can return to the way they were. Giselle, however, can’t get Bryce out of her system and continues to see him behind Giovanni’s back. As the war between these two men heats up again, Giselle has to decide if being with the man she loves is worth risking her life.

Disturbing

I don’t understand what I just listened to. This was an awkward, dark, and weird story. So much sexual aggression. If you are triggered by sexual assault of any kind, do not listen. I don’t even know the end goal of the book. I’m actually speechless.

WTF

OK I was attempting to avoid this. However after listening to the ending of this book I realize that it was just necessary for other listeners to know how this book came apart. I have never heard somebody whine so much in one of these books as this young lady did.

Gisselle was the stupidest VICTIM I had ever seen. I think the ultimate thing for me that was just the biggest turn off was when she hid the gun behind her and her husband was about to kill her lover. It took her all that time even though she has a gun for a moment, and didn’t use it. I will NOT read another book from this writer. I just don’t think she did a good job at all!

Very good book

It was really good but damn I’m glad this wasn’t a real person because that would’ve been messed up.
If your triggered from rape and molesters don’t read this book.

Giselle

I feel bad for her and understand her. I went through the same thing she we through but without the killing parts Domestic violence is a big deal and I'm happy that she found love with another man and a happy baby boy this story made me cry and sad at the same time. it's beautiful and strong Characters. Will read more stories. Money can not buy you happiness. love and respect can.

Wrong narrator for black book.

Could not even get thru this mess. Wrong narrator just killed it. To hear net say certain words made me cringe. Whoever selected her absolutely dropped the ball. She’s a good voice over but not to be reading this type of material. Totally off.

Giselle went through a lot. In this book there were a lot of twist and turns. It kept my attention all the way to end.

Too much violence for me

The book was good, just too much violence.I like the book because of the ending and I like when the bad guys get the karma that they deserve.

I have some issues

I was tempted to give this book 4 instead of 3 star rating, but this is where listening to something in audiobook can take a turn. The narrator, though very good, was clearly Caucasian. This did not stop her from reading the material in a very believable way. For me however, I question the choice to use a Caucasian narrator to read dialogue that contained the continued casual use of the N word. My feelings about that choice overshadowed my ability to simply listen to the narration because I feel offended. Secondly, with all of the heinous things that happened to Giselle, I'm very disturbed by the ease with which she was able to recover and forgive an attacker, to not only have sex, but initiate rough sex with them. Within days of these what should be traumatizing events at that? Like, what twilight zone am I in? I was almost onboard with some of this strange love that built until that happened. Karen Williams is a very good author, but these 2 things irritated me enough that I will second guess another read in the future.

Way too much sexualizing of rape!!!

This rape/sexual assault scenes were too much. I couldn't finish this book. Hated it for that very reason and couldn't give it a chance.
