Story
Annabel was about to take the veil to become a nun, when her mother suddenly arrived at the abbey to take her home...so that she can marry the Scottish laird who is betrothed to her runaway sister! She knows nothing about being a wife, nothing about how to run a household, and definitely nothing about the marriage bed. From the moment Ross MacKay sets eyes on Annabel, he is taken with his shy, sweet bride...and the fact that she's blessed with lush curves only makes him utter his own prayers of thanks. But when an enemy endangers her life, he'll move the Highlands themselves to save her.

Bastard daughter to the king, Rosamunde was raised in a convent and wholly prepared to take the veil...until King Henry declared she would wed Aric, one of his most valiant knights. Suddenly she found herself promising to love, honor, and obey. Rosamunde's education had not covered a wedding night, but the handsome warrior she was now bound to seemed intent on giving her a lesson in the art of pleasure. In no time, Aric was certain, she would surrender to the irresistible passion he promised.

I love Lynsay Sands
This book is very sweet. There were a few more opportunities for the h/h to have misunderstood one another that were missed.....but there were elements of humour. The heroine had agency. The ending was okay...... could have wrapped up both villains better. the romantic ending was sweet and well done.

Good story, EXCELLENT narration
I really like this narrator. Her Scottish accent is perfect (I'm pretty sure she must be from Scotland). She does very distinct voices for all the characters and enhances the story with emotion and intensity.
The story is good. There is a bit more violence that I would like but the romance is hot... And sweet and it has a few twists and turns I wasn't expecting. The ending was very nice too.

Sweet revenge
Hunky Highlander steals the prize in this tale of miscommunication and mayhem.
Elle Newland has a bizarre take on an English accent.... a weird cadence at times, but she delivers identifiable characters with style.
This is a steamy, hot, "mature themed" novel.
Yep, very creditworthy!

A LIGHT-HEARTED HUMOROUS MEDIEVAL HIGHLAND ROMP
I've loved all 20 of Lynsay Sand's Argeneau Vampire books and I love Highland books too (take a look at that cover girls.... drool-worthy yes?) so I'm thankfully never disappointed with any of her books. You know what you're going to get.... interesting characters, very entertaining plots, a loveable H & H and a great romance.
Well they're all here..... plus lots and lots of humor, not too graphic sex scenes and a sweet and tender romance between Laird Galen MacDonald, a grieved Highland Laird wanting revenge on his enemy, Laird MacGregor, and Kyla who's on route to her arranged wedding. As soon as Galen kidnaps Kyla there's one funny misunderstanding after another which eventually leads to disaster when Laird MacGregor comes sneaking back for his bride. There's a thrilling adventure, a great cast of secondary characters, passion, conflicts and a HEA waiting for Kyla.... and, of course, a handsome, sexy, tender and loving Highlander.
Dual P.O.V.'s and the Scottish narrator did a good job in bringing all the characters to life.
Worth a credit? A really entertaining smooth listen that was well written about greed, attempted murder and..... revenge which in the end was vera vera sweet and totally worth a wee credit.

Fun Read-Annoying Heroine
Great narration, strong, sensual hero, but the heroine was careless too many times and I stopped identifying with her. Having to be rescued once or twice is fine, but using this to advance the plot made the heroine out to be an idiot.

Poor
I have read a number of Ms. Sands book and liked many of them. But I have found them hit and miss. However this book is simply terrible. Our hero is nearly an idiot and our heroine is just irritating. The book is at times simply stupid. Skip this one. It's going back.

Pretty good
The writer has a talent for creating characters. The H and H are very likable, the Scottish warriors are innocent yet dangerously fierce, the servants are loyal and lovable, and the villains are deliciously nasty. The story, however is only average and predictable. All in all it is a good book but not outstanding. The narrator is good.
The story is that a Scottish Laird kidnaps and marries the intended bride of his enemy for revenge. The Laird blames the enemy for the death of his wife and child. As usual the Laird and his kidnapped bride fall in love, the enemy who is very wicked, tries to get back at the Laird and the evil sister in law wreaks havoc on all.

💜 Worth the read!
I really enjoyed this book. The story was sweet and the characters, including the secondary characters, were likable. Kyla was a lliittlleee annoying with the whole “I’m going to do what I want even though I clearly shouldn’t” but not enough to not like her. The narrator was new to me, and I enjoyed her. She is clearly Scottish and it took my ears a minute to adapt to the brogue. Lol. I think she did as good as anyone when emulating a foreign accent when she did the English accents. I would happily listen to her again.
I bought this on a 2 for 1 sale and it was definitely worth the half credit. Was it worth a full credit? I don’t know. I have very set parameters on what I’ll spend a full credit on and this just barely meets them. I wouldn’t have returned it, if that helps. Lol
