Publisher's Summary

Reports to write, forms to fill, coffee to drink, leads to run down, organized crime syndicates to break.

Gus’ life had been a tedium and boredom he’d grown comfortable with. One that he sought out after he’d come back from his tour of duty.

That was before Melody, a contractor, more or less blew his life up as if it were a building packed full of C-4.

Then helped him make a new life, which he himself ended blowing up.

A cushy new job with the FED, thrown out the window with a single gunshot.

All based on an assumption of who was working for who, and that he’d been on the wrong side of the equation.

And so ended his career in law enforcement after he became the assassin of a presidential candidate.

Now Gus is on to the next job - this time, working for his contractor and wife. The job they’re about to be given is a high-paying one.

The thing is, that the people they’re going up against? They’re just out to see the world burn. To send it screaming back down into the dark ages.

It’s a good thing that he’s a Boogieman.

Because being an apex predator that made the entirety of the paranormal world fear him was something he could fall back on even in this situation. To hunt, investigate, and watch from the shadows.

Wouldn’t be the first time he’d put his life on the line, either.

Unfortunately, for everyone involved, the long forgotten and primordial past was rearing its ugly head.

Gus knows he can certainly punch above his own weight class, but this case might just be the one that ends him.

Warning and minor spoiler: This novel contains graphic violence, undefined relationships/harem, unconventional opinions/beliefs, and a hero who is as tactful as a dog at a cat show. Listen at your own risk.

Amazing as usual

I love the universe, the characters and the narration. My only "complaint" is that I have to wait on the next audio release :p

Done with swing shift

Loved the first 2. Fan of other titles. This one sealed my interest for the swing shift group. Nope. Little action. Listened to the whole thing hoping for a story. Nope. Attraction descriptions for sex starved pre teen boys. So sad.

Series is still going strong

OK, so the first book really gave a neat world, and this one can't keep up with that.

BUT, it is still a really good book. Great crossover from Incubus Inc, and it seems like it falls during the second book on the timeline, but from a different point of view. This book also doesn't have as much steamy sex and instead has a lot more plot building. I think this series could keep going for a while if it keeps this up.

The narrator is amazing! the amount of different voices as well as inflection really pulls you in and makes you feel like you are listening to a group of people.

Overall I would definitely suggest this book if you liked either of the first two or any of the incubus Inc. books.

Swing Shift Book is!

Great as always and I cannot wait for Monster's Mercy 2 and 3. Like many others I buy these books the second they hit audible and this is the main reason I keep my subscription. Andrea Parsneau does an amazing job and is one of my favorite narrators just wish she was not so backed up.

Finally found them

I've been going through every single book in the collection(in an order I found online) searching for closure to one of the series. Super sale on super heroes was my favorite of the series and this one is a very close second. It's been great to hear how the writing has gotten better and better with every installment (not that it started at a bad place). Well done!

Not as good as the first two books

I love Will's/Randi's books, they're enjoyable stories. The first two books in the Swing Shift series were fun. However, Melody's lines in this book just ruined the overall story. They feel more like unnecessary filler than anything, found myself skipping forward (never done that to his books before). We get it Melody has some insecurities and mental issues, and the other girls have their own personal dramas, but to often show it to the point of constant repeatability just made it annoying, especially during inappropriate situations like in the middle of an operation. Don't get me wrong it's still a solid story despite all that, but all the filler and drama just made this a disappointing sequel.

These books are so bad

I've really enjoyed Arand's books before, but these are terrible. Gus' voice is grating, all the "heh", "huh", "hmph", etc, that every single character does constantly are torture. and the dialogue is unnatural and awkward
