À propos de cet audio

Get a personal chef, they said. It’ll be fun, they said.

And then Thierry shows up and Pietro realizes his mistake. Because he knows Thierry. A little too well.

Thierry is the man who told his ex to leave him.

Thierry is the man who punched Pietro and ran.

Thierry...is his ex-boyfriend’s best friend.

But Pietro also knows the man needs a job. An injury destroyed his former career, and Pietro is nothing if not a bleeding heart. Besides, he doesn’t have time to search for a new chef, not with the World Series looming and his team ready to go all the way.

Life gets more complicated, though, when he and Thierry cross a line one night after a lot of wine and several bad jokes. And while hooking up is one thing, Pietro knows the last thing in the world he needs is for his heart to get involved.

Too bad it tends to make decisions without him.

Switch-Hitter is the first book in a fictional MLB series featuring a lonely baseball player with a chip on his shoulder and hope in his heart, a team ready to win no matter what it takes, a grumpy French chef who will defend escargot to the death, and a few bottles of dry red wine leading to the sweetest happily ever after. Each book in the Hit and Run series stands alone, contains no cheating, and has a happily ever after.

New Review! Switch Hitter (Hit and Run #1) by E.M. Lindsey as read by John Solo

Finally getting around to posting this review. I’m a sucker for EM’s work and I LOVE John Solo so I figured I’d enjoy this title. What I didn’t expect was to feel so seen as a neurodivergent personality!!!! The main character has ADHD and it’s just woven so neatly into the story? Excuse me as I cry???!! 😭🫶🏻 bless EM for giving us such diverse rep in each of their books

Anyway! The book

TL:DR Pietro is an MLB star coming off a bad breakup with his model bf and trying to sort his life out. He is newly diagnosed with ADHD and desperately trying to stay organized and realizes he needs to hire a personal chef to see to his nutrition since he cannot keep on top of cooking.

Thierry is the former bodyguard of Pietro’s ex, who is now paralyzed after taking a bullet for said ex. He’s in recovery and looking for a new line of work. Cooking is his hobby and passion and his disability job placement sets him up with Pietro’s want ad. Things of course start off VERY bumpy based on their prior history.

Good food wins Pietro over and the fact that Thierry really does need a job and that they both hate Pietro’s ex. It’s adorable how good food brings them together and how a little snarky banter can change everything. Their relationship changes from there and soon their noticing each other’s butts and smiles and being cute. It’s adorable.

There’s a great deal of caretaking and grand gestures and understanding between the two and I enjoyed how they learned about each other’s needs. It was precious. Not quite enemies to lovers, but close. It was baseball themed, but the focus was certainly on their relationship.

A great EM Lindsey story for sure.

4 stars!

Sweet and snarky! Amazing ADHD rep!

Just feels like a total disconnect between the two main characters, it just seems like they are acquaintances, let alone friends. Normally love a John solo audiobook, however the French voice he was going just totally pulled me out of it. Felt off.

Not a believable couple
