Publisher's Summary

Boston Homicide Detective Reid Sylver closes every case that comes her way. Her secret? She can talk to the dead.

Reid’s perfect record has earned her the freedom to work with the only partner she can tolerate: a scarred one-eyed mastiff called Mugshot. Then the new boss saddles her with rookie London Gold. How will she keep her gift a secret with this ambitious rookie underfoot?

London Gold has dreamed of being a homicide detective since long before she became a cop. Now she has a chance to learn from the woman she’s idolized for years. Breaking through the detective’s tough shell won’t be easy, but she’s determined to learn the secret behind Reid's success.

Both women are surprised by their chemistry as they work feverishly to find a tech-savvy killer who stalks his victims from afar. Just one problem: The killer's now stalking them.

Sooooo good!

Larkin nails it with the banter between characters in this tale. Cops truly can find humor in just about everything. If you are a fan of romances that don’t go overboard in the angst department you’ll like this book. Really enjoyed this and hope to see a series with these characters!

Narrators make or break for audibles

This was the first book I've bought by this author. I thought the story was good, however the narrator made it extremely hard to get into it. I'm not sure if they were just trying to hard for character or what.

There are just certain narrators that kill a story for me and this one did. This makes book number four for this narrator and each time I've been disappointed. So, why did I keep trying after the first? Because everyone deserves a fair shake and some just aren't very good at first impressions.

Maybe I will someday buy the book and read it. I would buy other books by this author it's not their fault that the narration wasn't good.

I Really Wanted to Like This

The story is cute. It's pretty much exactly what I was hoping it would be. I can't tell if the writing is a little corny, or if it's just this narrator. She was really rough to listen to. REALLY. I kept listening, because I wanted to like the story, but the narration was not good. I might listen to another book by this author, (with a different narrator, obvs), but I'll wait until I can borrow it from the library. I don't want to end up paying for something like this again.

Love, Love, Love! Spot on narration, too...

Ok, I couldn’t stop listening to this one. So good! Praying for a series. I have to have more Sylver and Gold. PLEASE!
Very well written. Perfectly narrated, and I rarely think that. Great story. Not too over the top unbelievable as some books can be. I don’t love paranormal stories, but this one felt...just normal. Interesting enough to hold my attention. Love the main characters, including the dog.
Can’t say enough good. Worth the purchase. Go for it!

I really liked this book but....

I have wanted to read this for a while now. Cop romance books are a favorite. The story is different and that can be hard to find now a-days. Gold was a not trusting, closed up woman who the narrator tried to come off tough but never really sold it. Wish she did. The he said...she said after a statement I feel
wasn't necessary. Your reading it...you know who is speaking. The flow was off. It didn't leave me sighing with jealousy about there relationship like others but there could be a sequel possibility. But with the right flow please. Glad I read it.

Enjoyed it!

This was a very enjoyable book. Love Mug Shot. Love Sylver and Gold. Fun humor. Trigger Alert: don’t read if not a fan of gory murder stuff or if triggered by graphic descriptions of past childhood abuse. I really hope there is a sequel! These are characters I would like to follow.

WOW! Awesome story and narrator!

It is the best and most intriguing crime story I have ever read! And the chemistry between the two leads are off the charts! God, it was so good! I really hope there will be another book about Silver and Gold and their fantastic journey together!
* The narrator was amazing and perfect! She did a fantastic job! I will be listening to her audio books from now on! I hope the writer will Keep her as her future books narrator!! Please do that!

*( Lori Prince and Abby Craden sucks at audiobook! I can’t stand them! Thank god the author of this book Did not chose them because otherwise I wouldn’t listen to this book)

Great story from the beginning to end.

I think the kimdle book is better than the Audible but the Audible was still good. I think my reviews are subject to my mood so it may not mean a thing to you. I can't write so my reviews are based mainly on feeling. That said, I connected with the characters right away. The story didn't lag for me at all. I enjoyed it all the way through and hooe there is a second book. I stated to listen to it them decided to buy the kindle. I don't have time to read lately with my crazy work schedule so it was good that I couldn't put it down. I listened to the Audible during my commute. The narrator wasn't my favorite but she wasn't so bad that I couldn't finish it. I think I might be too picky with narrators. there are a few that would have made the Audible better. still well worth it.
