Publisher's Summary

Narrated by best-selling rom-com duo Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton!

Dean is certain that fake dating the cute owner of his new bakery investment could be messy...but messy can be fun.

Norah Donahue wants bakeries, not babies, but her matchmaking mother won't stop trying to play Cupid.

Dean Moser is a cocky stock market savant whose friends are all settling down, leaving Boulder's infamous ladies' man all alone.

When Norah needs a fake date for her parents' anniversary party, her new silent investor is the perfect guy for the job. It seems like a foolproof plan....

That is until Norah decides to break her biggest rule and lock lips with Dean in the middle of the party to spite her meddling mother.

Turns out that Dean and Norah's chemistry is sizzling hot, and mixing business with pleasure could turn out to be a recipe for disaster.

Or maybe they can have their cake and eat it, too.

Excellent listen

Teddy Hamilton has a sexy male narrator voice. His female not so much. Erin Mallon is one of my favorite narrators. She is great with female and male narration.
I listen to a lot of these kinds of books, which to me this story line was predictable.
Don’t get me wrong. The story was excellent.
Was worth the listen. 👍

Another great book by Amy Daws. I love how funny her books are with a perfect amount of steam and sweet romance. This is a fake relationship romance which isn't normally my favorite trope but she did it better than anyone before her imho. Not only were Nora and Dean sweet and sexy, their banter was funny, silly and some times so ridiculous I don't think any one could not laugh. The connection and chemistry was on point and I couldn't wait to see them get a HEA. The second best thing about this book is the friendships and the banter with all of the girls. They made you want to be in their circle of friends. Without spoilers, I just have to say the Gilmore Girls banter was awesome. Every time Amy Daws brings up the Gilmore Girls in her books it makes me love her more!
#Team Logan!!!!!(Sorry Amy)

The narration was perfect but I would expect nothing less from Teddy & Erin because they are both my favorite. Together they really do comedy and sexy well.

Love it!

Oh how the audio was even better than the book! How Dean and Norah ever thought they had a fake relationship made me chuckle! These two had such chemistry from the beginning. How could Norah think Dean was hanging out in her shop for the croinuts only? I just have to shake my head at these two lol. They are so cute together right from the start. Dean is such an amazing fake boyfriend, standing up for Norah with her family. Norah is the perfect plus one for wedding/prewedding activities. Watching their relationship evolve from not so fake to something much more was perfect. These two really brought out the best in each other, especially Dean helping Norah to let loose a little and Norah showing Dean he deserves love. Absolute perfection!

Get ready to have all of your appetites WHET

Not gonna lie I am an audiobook snob. It means I have a hard time getting into certain audio books. There are only a handful of author’s books I listen to. Amy Daws tops that list! Why? Because she always has the best narrators. Amy, Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton are a trifecta of perfection.

Warmth, humor and sexiness make this a hat trick for Take A Number. Seriously, this audiobook is off the charts. You will feel all the sensations of the moments and taste the deliciousness of each croinut as if you’re actually enjoying all the delectable treats packed into this mouthwatering story. You will never hear the words Sugar Lips and not think of Dean (Teddy). This audiobook will Whet your appetite in all sorts of ways. It will elicit all the feels and leave you craving for more.

As far as the the story, first you have the list maker Norah. She has a plan for everything except marriage and babies, much to the dismay of her mother. Next you have the snappy dresser and stock market savant, Dean. In no way is he looking for attachment. However, he does love his croinuts and his investments.
Together these two makeup their own special recipe for a limited amount of time to appease their own interested customers, their family and friends. The issue is sometimes things don’t always work according to plan. New recipes present their own issues when they get complicated. How do you fix them or can they be saved?
This story made me smile, tear up, and swoon. These two definitely had chemistry and blended well together. As always Amy Daws doesn’t disappoint. This is a story that will be ruminating in your mind for quite a while as well as probably have you taking a trip to the bakery!

ugh Erin Mallon

I really like Teddy Hamilton but the annunciation Erin Mallorn uses drives me nuts. generally I refuse to purchase anything read by her; sad face because I'd really like some of those books, but somehow I missed her in this one. I liked the story just not her voice.

Perfection

Just when I think Amy Daws couldn't top her last book, along comes this one. Take a Number was another "I can't stop listening until the end" for me. And the audio being by my two favorite narrators made it absolute perfection all around. The story flowed great as usual, and now I want whatever a cronut is.
10/10 all around, and I wait with bated breath for Daws next installment!

I want to live in this world!

I can always count on Amy Daws for humor, heat, and great audiobooks! I’ve read or listened to every book in this series. I look forward to each installment and this was no exception. I am a sucker for mutual appreciation/pining before a couple gets together and I also love a fake relationship with that setup. This book definitely delivered on that! The chemistry and tension between our leads was very satisfying. I also enjoyed both Norah and Dean’s professions because I appreciated that I was reading about driven, successful people that are around my age and successful in ways that feel true to life. I loved revisiting the characters from prior books, I thought this book had a great balance of time spent focused on the main couple and time with other people. I never felt like the world outside their relationship was ignored. I enjoyed that we got to know them as whole people. Each had family that shaped them and a support system of friends. I found a few phrases repeated throughout the book - lots of particular laughing - but it wasn’t too severe.
I love listening to Erin Mallon narrating Amy Daws, she strikes just the right tone. I felt both narrators did a great job and this was a fun listen!
I received a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Dean and Nora

Amy Dawes has done it again with Dean's story and made him likeable. I like this book set in Boulder with the same friends but is a totally standalone. Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton did a fantastic job narrating.
