Eight-year-old Leila Smith has seen and heard things that no child should ever have to. On the Hawthorn Estate, where she lives, she often stays out in the playground long after the other children have left, just so she can avoid her own home for longer.
But what Leila doesn't know is that someone has been watching her. One day, she disappears without a trace.

This book is a must read!!!
This book kept me captivated from start to finish! I was actually disappointed when it was over because I was so into it I never wanted it to end. The narrator’s was easy to listen to, the story line kept me guessing, and the characters were so likable. I highly recommend this, and all Lisa Stone books!!!!

Good story but not accomplished well
This could have been much better. I liked the story. The performance was really good too. But I hate characters that are stupid. The police are so far from anything that seems logical and they rely on their personal feelings instead of the actual evidence and I got more mad at the them than the actual antagonist. There could have Ben more actual content and let go of some of the unnecessary commentary that just plays it out so much longer. If you patient this is a great book. If you can see the holes like me you’ll be annoyed. Maybe a better read the book story so you can skip the parts you don’t need to read. Love the story but maybe more what the story could be. Stupid characters annoy me and there’s at least one or two. Happy listening!
